Pierce in 1929, Rosene taught for 5 years in a country, one-room, eight-grades schoolhouse. With her husband, a high school science and agriculture teacher, she lived in Romeo, Mich. where their two children were born. A special joy at her 100th birthday party was a rumble-seat ride down Main St. Richmond with Ray DeSloover at the wheel of his Model A Ford, a key to the city and a proclamation given her by Mayor Connie Lawson. Preceding her in death were her father and mother, two brothers and one sister. Surviving are one daughter, Joan Lorna Boewe (Karl-Heinz) of Richmond and one son, Dr. Fredrick H. Pierce (Mary Jo) of North Salem, Ind.; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
