Need is great; time is now; give to Food Bank Wednesday, April 14, 2010 2:06 PM - GateHouse Media, Inc. |
To the Editor: In the Monday, April 5 edition of The Daily Reporter, a special envelope was inserted to help encourage donations to the Food Bank of South Central Michigan. Last year the Food Bank distributed 337,984 pounds of food to Branch County residents through 15 different Branch area non-profit organizations. This distribution saved those non-profits over $430,000 while serving Branch County residents in need. You can help us continue this good work by using that envelope to send a donation to the Food Bank. If you give by April 30 the Feinstein Foundation will proportionally match your gift! If you designate a Branch County agency that is part of the Food Bank’s hunger-relief network, the Food Bank (with the Feinstein Foundation’s help) will guarantee a 10-percent match. (This is in addition to the special Michigan tax credit you may be eligible to receive for up to half of your donation). If you can’t find the envelope that was inserted, please send in your donation to: Food Bank of SCM, PO Box 408, Battle Creek, MI 49016, or give securely on line at: www.foodbankofscm.org The need is great. The time is now. Please give! Patty Parker Board Chair Food Bank of South Central MI. |
