William J. Jordan

Saturday, September 12, 2009 7:52 AM

William J. Jordan William J. Jordan, age 93, of Warren, died September 6, 2009, at St. John Macomb Oakland Hospital-Macomb Center in Warren. He was born September 12, 1915, in Mechanicville, New York to parents, William and Mary Jordan. We pay homage to William, a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War, who spent 25 years in dedicated service to our country as a member of the United States Air Force. William was proud of his wartime contributions and loved to recount stories of his service overseas. He was especially proud of his involvement with a M.A.S.H. unit while in Korea. Upon his return stateside, William went to work with the Chrysler Corporation. Like many men, William knew and enjoyed the solitude and pleasure that accompanied a trip to the fishing hole. But his passion centered around his skills with wood. An avid woodworker, he loved to build and create his own masterpieces, and often gathered inspiration from one of his favorite TV shows, "The New Yankee Work Shop," featuring Norm Abrams - the patron saint of amateur woodworkers. He was truly a man with a story to tell and things to accomplish, and enjoyed sharing it all with his family and friends. William is survived by his daughter, Susan; son-in-law, Stephen; granddaughter, Beth; and two great-grandchildren, Hannah and William. His sister, Rita, still resides in his hometown, Mechanicville, NY. Arrangements were entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. Please share memories at www.Temrowski.com.
