As a participant in the University of Michigan Gift of Life research project for over 20 years, her body was donated for research and her remains cremated. Roth 1918-2008 "I'd like to live to ninety and then that's enough," she said many time over the years. So saying, Helen W. Roth, age 90, left for heaven on October 12, 2008 in Tawas City. She was born on February 23, 1918, the youngest daughter of the late John and Ida (Compton) Fournier of Gagetown. In 1939 she married Burton Roth and moved to a farm near Owendale. When Burton died in 1979, she moved to New Port Richey, Fla. In 2003 she returned to Michigan to be closer to her family. Teaching, first in rural schools in Huron and Tuscola counties, then in Owendale-Gagetown system, was the highlight of her life. Second graders were her favorites, she took special pride in teaching them cursive writing. In retirement in Florida, Helen loved volunteering at two thrift shops. Consequently her family received many interesting "Mother boxes." Helen maintained an active interest in current events, particularly politics. In fact during her last week of life she asked for and cast an absentee ballot. She is survived by her daughter, Sherrie (Randolph) Brown, Tawas City; her son, Dick (Pam) Roth, Caseville; two granddaughters, Mary (Byron) Graf, Caseville and Kristen (Levi) Zagorski, Bay City and three special great-grandsons, Thomas and William Graf and Stephen Zagorski. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Preston (Jack) and Lynwood Fournier and two sisters, Stella (Marie) Fogarty and Myrtle Smale. Funeral services were held at the Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home, Pigeon with Pastor John Gunden officiating. Burial took place in the Grant Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Rural School Museum at the Octagon Barn or Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund of West Branch. He proceeded her in death August 1999. Roselind was first of all a mother and grandmother. She also was a brownie troop leader, a partner for life to her husband, former co-owner of the Port Sanilac Marina and owner of one of the very first of its kind soft serve ice cream shops in the late 1930's in St. Clair, MI. She is survived by her children and grandchildren. As Rita went to be with the Lord, she was surrounded by her loving family and under Heartland Hospice Care. Rita was born on August 30, 1934 in Harbor Beach , daughter of the late Charles Marcus and Mabel Ida (Winkel) Holdwick, Sr. She was united in marriage to Richard Charles Warchuck Sr. on November 29, 1952 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ruth. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2004. Rita graduated from Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic School in 1952. She was a loving wife, mother and fantastic homemaker. She was a parishioner at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ruth where she was a member of the Sts. Peter & Paul Christian Mothers Sodality. Rita was also a former parishioner at St. Pius Catholic Church in Hale. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and Friends Instantly Sending Help (FISH), both of Hale. She was an avid card player and an extraordinary cook, taking pleasure in sharing delicious recipes with her children and grandchildren. Most of all, Rita treasured time spent with family and friends. She was devoted to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her kind loving heart and warm smile. Rita has brought beautiful memories to everyone who touched her life. (Harper) Foss. Mr. Foss was a retired operating engineer with Ann Arbor Paving. He was a 50 year member of F & AM Lodge #237, Port Sanilac. He was a member of the Sanilac Shrine Club; the Sanilac Co. Sportsman's Association and a life member of the N.R.A. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Donald and Maxwell and a sister Dora Gentry. No visiting or services are planned. Arrangements were made by the Pomeroy Funeral Home, Carsonville.

He was born March 16, 1920 to William Fredric and Mae Thorman. He was married to Adelaide E. LePard on August 28, 1944 in Almont. They have enjoyed over 64 years of marriage. He graduated from Dryden High School. Bill's Dairy farm is a Michigan Centennial Farm; having been in the Thorman family since 1875. His Registered Holstein Cattle herd was well known around the area. He served 16 years as the President of the Dryden School Board. He served over 30 years as the Secretary of Lapeer Co-Op.
