Benjamin R. Konupek Benjamin R. "Bud" Konupek, age 89, of Clinton Township, died December 30, 2009 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital. He was born February 15, 1920 in Detroit, Michigan. Mr. Konupek was a Veteran of U.S. Army World War II, 1956 graduate of University of Detroit; Founder of Apollo Fire Equipment Co., Romeo, Mich. where he continued to work until mid September 2009; charter member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Clinton Township where he served as chairman of the congregation and the elders; sustaining member of Southeastern Fire Chief's Assoc. and Macomb County Fire Chief's Assoc.; member of Kiwanis Club of Mt. Clemens and Mt. Clemens Old Crowd; member of Gowanie Golf Club and past member of Burning Tree Golf Club; he enjoyed watching sports, especially the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings; he enjoyed golf, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. Mr. Konupek is survived by his children, Robert (Annette) Konupek of Macomb and Linda (Robert) Scott of Sterling Heights. Proud grandfather of Robert Scott and Lindsay (Brandon) Radzik. Proud great-grandfather of Nathan and Samantha Radzik, and Tye Ludwig-Scott. Dear brother-in-law of Marita Konupek. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Marie H. (Bordeau) Konupek in 1990; parents, Frank and Anna (Kostka) Konupek; twin brother Raymond Konupek. Visitation 2-9 p.m. Sunday at Wm. Gabriella Bruder Gabriella "Gaye" Bruder, age 90, passed away December 29, 2009. She was born February 16, 1919, in Detroit, the daughter of Sidon & Maria (Muylle) DeSmet. Gaye lived in the Armada area since 1930 and was married to Henry E. for 48 years. Gaye was a real estate agent for 35 years in Armada. She and daughter, Judy operated the "lunch wagon" for auctioneer, Paul Hillman in the 1950's. Gaye enjoyed family and friends and playing cards. She was an avid euchre player and enjoyed visits to the casino. Gaye is survived by sons, Henry A. "Buff" (Joan) and Richard (Joyce) and daughter, Judy (Tom) Cline; grandchildren; Kim Bruder, Korinne (Jeff) Abernathy, Richard (Nola) Bruder, Janet (Mike) Bates, Brian (partner Bryan Beal) Bruder, Julie (Todd) Erickson, Lisa Walker, Tom (Penny) Cline Jr. and Debra (Daryl) Mendrick; 9 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; and sister, Yvonne (Dean) Kaster. Gaye was predeceased by her husband, Henry in January 1982; brother, Albert DeSmet; sister, Angela (Ray) Eisenhardt; and grandson Terry Bruder. Joseph M. Marchese Joseph Michael Marchese, age 83, a longtime resident of Warren and Center Line, died Thursday, December 31, 2009, at the Windemere Park Senior Community in Warren. Joseph was born January 27, 1926, in Cleveland, Ohio the son of the late Fred Marchese and the late Frances (nee: Gilberto) Marchese. Mr. Marchese was raised in Detroit and proudly served in the Navy during World War II. He served as the ships cook 2nd class aboard the 945 LST. After his honorable discharge from the Navy in 1945, Mr. Marchese returned to Michigan and later married his wife in 1949. Mr. Marchese was the founder and owner of Marchese Towing in Warren since 1958. The business and his family were his life. He had his routine and enjoyed visiting his favorite restaurants including Michelle's, the Donut Hole, and others along his Van Dyke route. Also Mr. Marchese never forgot his Navy buddies; he traveled to reunions with them, and also enjoyed taking cruises with his family. Mr. Marchese was the beloved husband of the late Patricia. He is the dear father of Joseph (Deborah) Marchese, Michael (Kathy) Marchese, Patricia Marchese, and loving grandfather of Joseph, Michele (Michael) Aron, Kimberly, Michael, and the late Lawrence. Great-grandfather of Nikolaus and Mathew Aron, and Ashley. Brother of the late Pasquale, Louis, and John Marchese. Brother in-law of Mary Marchese. Dear uncle of Patrick, Kevin, Robert (Rose), Billy (Jessica), Jim, Linda, and Angie. Visitation for Mr. Marchese will be Saturday 5-9 p.m., and Sunday from 3-9 p.m. with an evening vigil service. Lois M. Davis, 65 of Homer, passed away Monday, Dec. 28, 2009 at her residence.   She was born Feb. 2, 1944 in Bronson to Obed and Mary (Metzger) Smith. She married William Davis, Sr. Lois was a machine operator at Metaldyne and previously worked for J. Miller Machine. She attended West Eckford Missionary Church. Lois enjoyed fishing, hummingbirds, tropical fish, painting and art. She enjoyed all of her grandchildren. She is survived by daughters Annette (James) Musgrave of Burlington and Barbra (Brian) Kline of Homer, step-daughters Regina Davis of Coldwater and Katina Clearenger of Coldwater, sons Joseph Vorce of Homer, William Vorce of Burlington and Charles (Nancy) Vorce of New Boston, step-son William Davis, Jr. of Coldwater, 25 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, brothers Lynn (Ruth) Smith of Homer, Loyd (Linda) Smith of Burlington, Leonard (Rosemary) Smith of Homer and Lowell (Lydia) Smith of Homer, stepfather Phillip Maine of Ohio and stepsister Brenda Hutchinson of Ohio. Ryan Dean Ende, age 31 of Hamilton passed away Sunday, December 27, 2009. The Lord in His infinite wisdom took Ryan home to be with Him in glory. His struggles with mental illness and more recently with alcoholism are now over and he now is perfectly whole living for eternity with his Lord and Savior. He leaves to mourn and yet rejoice, his parents, Rick and Beverly Ende, sisters Valerie and Mike Capel, Jodi and Phill Granfors all of Hamilton, and Jamie and Wm. Brian Post of Zeeland, nephews and nieces, whom he adored, Riley and Corey Capel, Christopher and Makayla Granfors, Rebecca, Katherine, Benjamin and Elizabeth Post, his very best friend Erika Kiefer, his grandparents Harold and Donna Ende of Hamilton and Gordon and Gertrude Hassevoort of Hudsonville, many aunts, uncles and cousins, and also many friends at and from Western Theological Seminary, who helped him obtain his Masters of Divinity in 2009. Ryan also graduated from Hamilton High School in 1997 and Grand Valley State University in 2003. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Hamilton Reformed Church, 3554 M-40, Hamilton with the Pastor Andy DeBraber officiating.  Visitation will be 5-8 pm Tuesday at the Hamilton Reformed Church Fellowship Hall. Sadie M. Stepnioski Sadie M. Stepnioski, age 80, a resident of New Baltimore since 1969, passed away on December 30, 2009, in her home. Sadie was born August 15, 1929, in Detroit. She was a cook at Harrison Community Hospital, after her retirement from the hospital she was a caregiver for several senior citizens. She was a very active member of St. Mary Queen of Creation Church in New Baltimore where she served as a lector, Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist, the prison ministry team, prayer group and was a leader for Scripture services for funerals. She is survived by four sons; John (Kaleen) of Portland, Ore., Daniel (Cheryl) of New Baltimore, Mark (Noel) of Fair Haven and Paul (Debbie) of Ruby; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband John whom she married October 19, 1957, in Roseville, Mich.
