He graduated from the University of Michigan, B.A., M.S. and Ohio University M.A., M.B.A.. While a graduate assistant in college, Dale tutored foreign students, and with graduate work in Physiology, Chemistry, Industrial Psychology and Economics, he pursued a career in the international branch of the pharmaceutical industry. Marketing Research and Strategic Planning were specific areas of interest and he also taught evening classes in both subjects at Western Michigan University. POPPELREITER JOSEPH C II

Passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009, in Houston, Texas. He is missed by his loving wife Julie, his mother, sister and brother in Michigan, and his daughter in California. Joe was an inventor and technology innovator. He held two patents and was widely respected by his peers in the engineering industries. He was a lover of nature and a keen observer of all the human and animal species. In his younger days, he was awarded the Vigil Honor Award by the Boy Scouts of America. The Vigil Honor is the highest honor that the Order of the Arrow can bestow upon its members. Joe loved growing and perfecting new strains of tomatoes. He loved to see fine machines excel at their edge of perfection, just as he loved to marvel at the ability of his beloved Hummingbirds to manuever amongst the many feeders at his home in Sugar Land. In his last years Joe was a key technologist at Kem-Tron in Stafford, Texas. In the last few months of his life Joe had perfected the design and practical development of a new generation of shale shakers and Kem-Tron has decided to name the new machines, the Poppelreiter Shakers.
