Barbara F. Tucker, 74, of Elkhart, Ind. died Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009 at 5:25 p.m. at the Elkhart General Hospital. She was born March 31, 1935 in Elkhart, Ind. to Richard and LaVon Forberg. She married Paul E. Tucker on May 17, 1968 in Coldwater. He died on April 4, 2009 in Elkhart, Ind. She was formerly employed as a waitress for 25 years having worked at the Cottage Inn and the Waterfall Restaurant in Elkhart. Barbara attended Riverview Adult Day Care Center. She enjoyed traveling, collecting dolls, going to crusins and sitting on her porch and watching birds. She is survived by daughters Penny (Larry) Avery of Elkhart, Ind. and Chris (Chuck) Rinehart of Elkhart, Ind., son Gary Beatty of Baraboo, Wisc., seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one half sister and a half brother. Visitation will take place from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home in Elkhart, Ind. Cremation will take place with burial at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery in Girard. Memorials are suggested to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care or the Huntington’s Foundation.

Jean was born Aug. 14, 1935, in Seneca Township, Mich., the daughter of Ray and Hazel Yeagley. On Dec. 2, 1961, she married Donald Wagner. He preceded her in death Aug. 15, 2004. Jean is survived by Douglas Yeagley and special friend Floie Van Patton, Don (Ginger) Wagner, Phillip (Diane) Wagner and Helen McAndrews; grandchildren Spencer, Nathan, Whitney, Joshua and Courtney; two sisters, Joan (Dewayne) Rendel and Mary Jo (David) Brewer. A graveside service is scheduled at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, at Oak Grove Cemetery, Morenci, Mich., with the Rev. William VanValkenburg officiating.

Barry James Delarye, 65, of Gwinn, died Monday morning at his home in Gwinn. He was born Aug. 29, 1944, in Negaunee, a son of the late J. Nelson and Alice Delarye and was a lifelong area resident. On Feb. 13, 1988 he married the former Linda Culliton. Barry worked as a miner for CCI and most recently was employed in housekeeping with the Ojibwa Casino prior to his retirement due to illness. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing his guitar. Barry is survived by his wife, Linda Delarye, of Gwinn; children Lauri Miller of Edwardsburg, John (Melissa) Delarye of Sturgis, Jim (Michelle) Delarye of White Pigeon, Joseph Ellis of Negaunee; Tanya (Craig) Hanninen of Gwinn and Michelle (Tom) Verboczki of Gwinn; grandchildren Sarah, Taylor, Jarad, Logan, Courtney, Ashley, Preston, Jamie Lynn, Montana, Kaytlinn, Sierra, Savanah, Hunter, Kaiylah, Kyle, Michel and Jordon.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandchild, Dylan Delarye.  A private family service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements were made by Canale-Gwinn Funeral Home, www.canalefuneral.com.

Ben is survived by his loving wife, Kathy, of 29 years; daughter, Anita DeWitt; son, Jerry (Renae) DeWitt; and two grandchildren, Jillisa and Kristina; and special friend, Dale Martin. Mr. Jacobs had been a resident of Lansing all of his life. He was a U.S. veteran serving in the Navy, stationed in Alaska. He also was a master craftsman when it came to working with wood. She was born on May 6, 1938, in Cambria Township Hillsdale County, the daughter of Richard and Rena (Daniels) Price. Betty graduated from Jonesville High School in 1955. She married Kenneth D. Bowlby on June 26, 1955, at the First Baptist Church in Hudson. He survives. Betty retired from Waldron Industries. She enjoyed bowling, bird watching, shopping, planting flowers and especially spending time with friends and family. Betty was a member of First Baptist Church in Hudson. Surviving Betty is her husband, Kenneth; two children, Kathleen (Bill) Kelley of Morenci and Tracy (Kelli) Bowlby of Fenton; four grandchildren, Billie (Jill) Kelley III of Hudson, Jamie (Juanita) Kelley of Adrian, Meghan and Logan Bowlby of Fenton; four great-grandchildren, Chloe, Bailey, Morgan and Billie IV; one brother, Kenneth Price of Hillsdale; two sisters, Bonnie Price of Hillsdale and Mary Bruneau of Manistee; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Betty L. Henning Lansing Age 88, went to be with The Lord, Tuesday, September 22, 2009. Betty was born, September 16, 1921 in Lansing, Michigan the daughter of William and Della (Sheets) Sheathelm. Betty has been a Lansing resident all of her life. She graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelors Degree. She retired from the Waverly School District after many years of service. Betty was a life long member at Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ where she was a member of the Women's Fellowship and very active until the very end. She was a member of the 39'ers, Mildred Benedict Pearl Caldwell Circle, Blanche Lewis-Paul Circle and a MSU Alumni. She enjoyed volunteering at Sparrow Service Auxiliary and Meals On Wheels for many years. Betty was an avid fan of all MSU sports and the Wharton Center. She loved to cook, bake and entertain for family and friends. A loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend will be dearly missed by all that knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard in 2002; brothers, Clifford, Glenn, Russell, Rex and Wayne Sheathelm; sister, Mildred Benedict. Betty is survived by her loving daughters, Denise (Kerry) Guest and Debbie (John) Hurth; brother, Pete Sheathelm; sisters-in-law, Doris Martemucci, Ruth Yatchman and Francis King Brown; grandchildren, Ben and Chris Guest, Elizabeth, Catherine and Matthew Hurth. After retirement, he founded Bloomer Bob’s Greenhouses. Bob attended Michigan State University and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Surviving besides his wife Rose Marie and mother Stella are children, Rory (Sindy) of Boyne City, Mike (Sherri) of Jonesville, Scott (Chris) of Kalamazoo and Cheryl (Michael) Taylor of Shelby; nine grandchildren; siblings, Patricia (Joseph) Caurdy of Saline, Sharon Karaptian of Arizona and Ron Karaptian of Wyandotte. There she met a U.S. Marine, Garold "Mac" McKenzie, who became the love of her life. Once Cathy retired from the city of Lansing Treasurer's office, it was all about flowers and nurturing her family. If she wasn't found in one of her many gardens or cooking in her kitchen, she could be found enjoying the extra special relationship she had with her granddaughter, Ashley. Her family and flowers thrived from her loving tender care. She will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Charles A. Berry, 86, of Marshall, died on Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, at Sturgis Hospital. Mr. Berry was born on March 6, 1923, in Shamokin, Pa., to Charles G. and Della (Lahr) Berry. He served in the US Army during World War II, and was honorability discharged in 1943. On March 7, 1947, he married Iona Marie Fox. She preceded him in death on Jan. 3, 1984. Mr. Berry worked as a machine operator for the Eaton Corporation for 30 years. He retired Aug. 1, 1981. Mr. Berry was an avid harness racer, and enjoyed racing his horses at all the local tracks throughout Michigan and Indiana. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and football. Mr. Berry enjoyed spending time with his friends at the local coffee stops, but he especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his children, June (Rick) Wisel of White Pigeon, Charles H. (Judy) Berry of Battle Creek, Dennis Berry of Kalamazoo, and Patricia (Larry) Thorp of Ionia. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and five siblings. “Katie,” born Edith Katherine Ericksen, age 95, of Adrian,  formerly of Toms River, N.J, passed away, Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at 2:40 p.m. at Lenawee Medical Care Facility. She was born Feb. 28, 1914, in Westfield, N.J., the sixth of eight children to Christian and Ingaborg Ericksen. On May 2, 1932, she married Lester Peek in Scotch Plains, N.J. He preceded her in death on Dec. 11, 1992.  Katie had been employed by Van Doren Laundry in Garwood, N.J., the aircraft factory during World War II in Linden, N.J., and the Plainfield, N.J., High School cafeteria as a cook. Katie is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Ann (William) Kesling of Adrian; four grandchildren, William Jr. (Debra), Jeffrey, Sr., Susan (Rick) Rogers and Thomas (Margie); and five great-grandchildren, Stacey, Jeffrey, Jr., Michael, Robert and Thomas, Jr. Cremation has taken place. Ethel E. Vanderpool, 88, of Hudson, passed away peacefully Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, at Bixby Medical Center in Adrian. She was born Feb. 27, 1921 in Winnemeg, Ohio, the daughter of William and Ollie Mae (Yates) Dulaney. Ethel married Elwood F. Vanderpool April 6, 1937 in Angola, Ind. He preceded her in death Dec. 27, 1984. Together they owned and operated a farm, were members of Lenawee County Farm Bureau and were 4-H Club leaders. Ethel retired from Fayette Tubular Company in 1983, where she also served as chief union steward. Ethel enjoyed crocheting, making quilts and camping with the grandchildren. Ethel is survived by two daughters, Donna (Ray) Wilson of Hudson and Evelyn (Lawrence) Gray of Kissimmee, Fla.; three sons, Jack (Linda) Vanderpool of Morenci, Victor (Judy) Vanderpool and Roger (Judy) Poling all of Hudson; two daughters-in-law, Shirley Vanderpool of Morenci and Barbara Poling of Pittsford; 13 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Vanderpool of Montgomery; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Joe Vanderpool and Dennis Poling; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia (Jim) Poling; daughter-in-law, Jan Vanderpool; grandson, Troy Vanderpool; great-granddaughter, Kenzie Butts; and two brothers. Funeral Services for Ethel will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21 at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson with Pastor Fritz Kruse officiating. Florence B. Harrison Muskegon Mrs. Florence B. Harrison, widow of Hubert, age 93, formrerly of Mason, passed away Tuesday evening, September 22, 2009. She was born December 12, 1915 in Aurelius, MI to Frank and Emma (Blanchard) Darrow. Mrs. Harrison had resided in Mason, Higgins Lake, and for the past 7 years in Muskegon. Florence worked at the Mason State Bank, the Ingham County Treasurer's Office, Steele Street School, and then opened a beauty shop in her home which she operated for 20 years before retiring. Mrs. Harrison had many treasured patrons and friends there. She gave of her heart to everyone she knew and mostly to her family whom she loved so much. On July 15, 1939 she married Hubert H. Harrison in Mason, MI and he preceded her in death on May 5, 2005. Survivors include 2 daughters, Connie (Ron) Snyder of Burnsville, Minnesota, Mary (Don) Vanderlaan of North Muskegon; grandchildren, Eric (Christine) Snyder and Jon (Kari) Snyder, Beth Vanderlaan and David (Lacey) Vanderlaan; and great-grandchildren, Lauren, Christopher, and Emily Snyder. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mildred Coover, Dorothy Droscha, Isabelle Wheaton; and her brother, Dale Darrow. Francis Joseph “Timer” Vogler, age 79, of Vicksburg, died Wednesday Sept. 23, 2009, at his home with his wife of 54 years at his side.  He was born in St. Louis, Mo. on June 8, 1930, one of 11 children born to Ernest Ludwig and Pearl Avis (Moore) Vogler.  He was a graduate of Normandy High School and later attended St. Louis University.  Timer served with the U.S. Army in Japan and Korea and was awarded the United Nations Service Medal. Timer worked in the family business known as Vogler Excavating and later worked building Lutheran churches around the country.  He later retired from Simpson Paper Company in 1990.   Timer was married to Marion Taucher on Jan. 22, 1955 in St. Englebert Catholic Church in St. Louis.  They continued to reside in St. Louis until moving to Mendon in 1966, and to Vicksburg in 2001.  He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and working on his family’s genealogy. Timer is survived by his wife, Marion;  seven children, Debra Christiansen (William) of Schoolcraft, Mark Louis Vogler of Three Rivers, Joseph Allen Vogler (Ki Ran) of Mendon, John Anthony Vogler (Leslie) of Mendon, Steven Henry Vogler (Jeanine) of Cutlerville, Susan Elizabeth Sirna (Gregory) of Centreville, and Tony Michael Vogler (Stacy) of Wolverine Lake; twelve grandchildren;  three sisters, Delores Rich (Warren) of Chesterfield, Mo., Mary Roots of Foristell, Mo., and Sally Stroer of Arlington, Texas ; two brothers, Herbert Vogler of Lady Lake, Fla., and Fred Vogler of Florissant, Mo.; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Vogler and Ernestine Tull; three brothers, Warren Vogler, Henry Vogler, and Ernest Vogler, Jr.; a son-in-law, Dr. Jack Scobey; and a nephew killed in Vietnam, Gregory Vogler. The family will receive friends from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon, where the Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m.  The funeral mass will be 11 a.m. on Monday, Sep. 28, 2009, at St. Edward Catholic Church in Mendon with Rev. Isabel J. Abbs, age 97, a lifelong Sturgis resident, passed away Tuesday morning, Sept. 22, 2009, at Thurston Woods Village. She was born Aug. 19, 1912, in Sturgis, a daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Davis) Burg. On Dec. 12, 1931, in Sturgis, she married Carlisle E. Abbs. He preceded her in death in 1993. Isabel was a homemaker and had worked for a short time at the Wood Motel in Sturgis. She enjoyed “being on the go,” her animals, and especially loved children and spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are three sons, Jack (Sarah) Abbs, Jerry (Imadean) Abbs, and Doug (Cathi) Abbs all of Sturgis; seven grandchildren, Timothy Abbs, Mark Abbs, James Abbs, Deborah Owsley, Patricia Abbs, Steven Abbs and Tiffany Abbs; two step-grandchildren: Greg and Nick West, and 13 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Norman, and infant sister, Genevieve. The family will receive friends and relatives from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes Rosenberg Chapel, 807 E. Chicago Road, Sturgis. Jessica was born Jan. 24, 1989, in Hillsdale, to Charles and Suzanne (Sanders) Weir. She is survived by her parents and her twin sister, Jacqlyn C. Weir; maternal grandmother, Neva Sanders of Jackson; paternal grandparents, David and Donna Weir of Florissant, Colo. and several aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her dearly loved Grandpa, Gordon L. Sanders and several aunts and uncles. Jessica was homeschooled and graduated from Clonlara, Ann Arbor. She worked part time at Tractor Supply Company, helped others with their farms, and had a country band. Jessica loved the Lord Jesus Christ, her family, and her friends. She always put others first and would share a smile or kind word with anyone and everyone she would meet. Her number one passion was singing, whether in the barn or playing and performing with a classic country band. She loved farm life and home. She was a wonderful homemaker, whether cooking, canning, or making cheese. Sewing has been a lifelong interest, as was arts and crafts. Leatherwork caught her interest and she was very excited to be getting a business started. Jessica was and still is a light in the hearts of all who knew her. A celebration of Jessica’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 27 at Veterans Memorial Building, 875 E. Main St., Montpelier, Ohio. Jeans, boots, and cowboy hats would be SO welcome. John graduated from Coldwater High School with the class of 1969. He furthered his education at Indiana College of Mortuary Science in Indianapolis graduating in Sept. 1976. He served his apprenticeship at the Putnam Funeral Home and passed his state board in Jan. 1978. He was a member of Michigan Funeral Directors Association, President of District #2 in 1984, Vice President of District #3 in 2002 and President of District #3 in 2003. He was board certified for funeral service examining boards of the United States of America, Michigan Eye Bank Transplant Center. He was Vice President of the Board of Education at Pansophia Academy. John was also a member of the Elks Club #1023 of Coldwater, F&AM Humanity Lodge 29 of Homer and had formerly been a member of Kiwanis, Lions, Chamber of Commerce (Niles, Elk Rapids and Traverse City) and Rotary. John had worked at the Everiss Funeral Home in Adrian, Gillespie Funeral Home in Coldwater, Pifer-Smith Funeral Home in Niles, Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City, the Tidd-Williams Funeral Home in Albion and had just accepted a job in Tucson, Ariz. He is survived by his sons; Jason (Mashaun) Schabloski of Quincy, Justin Schabloski also of Quincy, a sister, Pamela Arredondo of Coldwater and fiancé Rebecca Rupp of Coldwater. He was preceded in death by his parents. John loved his two sons and had a love of cars. Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Putnam Funeral Home in Coldwater. John W. Dennany Lansing Born August 11, 1931, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of John and Rose (Ambrustmacher) Dennany passed to the arms of God on September 21, 2009 with his family by his side. John sailed the Great Lakes in the U.S. Coast Guard and proudly served on the Lansing Fire Department for 30 years, retiring as Captain in 1985. Affectionately known to his family as "Bill," he was a dear friend to many and always there to lend a helping hand to his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Donald "Bud" Dennany; and sister, Rosemary Bennett. June served as Blissfield Township Clerk for 30 years, retiring in 1996. In her free time she enjoyed sewing, flower gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are two sons, Robert (Linda) McKown of Sand Lake, Mich., and Tom (Marria) McKown of Brooklyn, Mich.; two brothers, Lee Baker of Howard City, Mich., and William Baker of Brownstown, Mich.; and four grandchildren, Patrick, Katie, Ryan and Paul McKown. June was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters. Funeral Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m at the Tagsold Funeral Home in Blissfield, with the Rev. Keith Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Blissfield. Visiting hours will be Friday evening from 6:30 to 9 p.m at the funeral home. Kirt is survived by his wife, Teresa, and children Scotland (Jessie), Steffanne, Jenna, and two grandchildren, Brianna and Ki-Juan. He is also survived by his mother, Sandra (Al) Banning, and brothers, Bret (Mindi) and Todd (Carmen). He was preceded in death by his father, William LaCoe. Kirt was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, boating, skiing, snowmobiling, camping and deer hunting. He especially enjoyed cookouts, spending time with family and friends and Harley trips with his wife. The service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, at Gateway Community Church, 268 S. Kristopher Dan Rodgers 29, Burr Oak Staff Sergeant Kristopher Dan Rodgers, age 29, of Burr Oak, Mich., and formerly of Howe, Ind., and a graduate of Lakeland High School in LaGrange, Ind., with the class of 1998, was killed Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, in Korengal Valley, Afghanistan, while serving his country with the U.S. Army. He was born Dec. 29, 1978 in LaGrange, Ind., a son to Danny and Kathryn (Smith) Rodgers. Kristopher had resided in Howe, Ind., most of his life. On Oct. 2, 1999, he married Selina Schroeder in Three Rivers, Mich. He had served in the U.S. Army for the past eight years. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Kristopher had a true passion and love of football and was a fan of the Chicago Bears and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He was also a fan of the Detroit Red Wings and enjoyed food, fishing and playing golf. Kristopher had many interests and hobbies, but his No. 1 concern and love in his life was his family. She was married June 4, 1940 to J.L. Mackey and he preceded her in death Nov. 8, 2004. Marie resided the majority of her life in Hillsdale County and attended the Camden Missionary Church. Surviving are two children, Shirley (Terry) Gratz and Larry (Pam) Mackey, both of Frontier; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers. Funeral services for Marie Mackey will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Pastor Brian Colby officiating. Interment will follow at Frontier Cemetery. Marvin Stanley Fedewa Portland Age 78, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2009. He was born on March 4, 1931 the son of Marcellus and Leona (Pung) Fedewa. Marvin was a family man first and then farmer. He worked at Motor Wheel and at T.R.W. as a supervisor. He especially enjoyed their cottage at Morrison Lake and traveling during the winter. Marvin was instrumental in the formation of the Fr. Flohe Foundation at St. Patrick Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert. On September 26, 1951 he married his wife, Janet and she survives. He was born Sept. 8, 1926, in Sturgis, a son of the late Russell John and Ethel (Fennell) Blasius. John was a lifelong resident of Sturgis and a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1945. On Sept. 7, 1947, he married Jeanne Crabill in Bronson, Michigan. Following 40 years of dedicated employment with the Harter Corporation in Sturgis he retired in 1986. Much of his time with Harter’s he held the position of supervisor of the upholstery department. He also enjoyed working in the construction business. John was a veteran of the U.S. Army, earning the rank of Technical Sergeant, T-4 serving during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis, Neuman-Wenzel Post #73 American Legion, Captain John J. Kelley Post #1355 VFW and Voiture #545 40/8. For more than 20 years he served on the City of Sturgis Parks and Cemetery Board. John enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and hunting and played on the Harter fast pitch softball team for several years. He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 62 years, Jeanne; three sons, J. Dan (Mary Helen) Blasius of Ocean Side, Calif., Martin (Mary) Blasius of Lansing and James Blasius of Sturgis; four Grandchildren, Mary Ellen (her fiancée Kirk Rossi) Blasius, Teresa Blasius, Sarah Blasius and Leo Blasius; a great-grandson, Daniel; a sister, Annadell Norton of Sturgis; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Moret Ritter and June Wentworth; and three brothers, George, Joe and Richard Blasius. He was born Aug. 6, 1947, in Coldwater, the son of William “Bill” and Donna (Jones) Zimmerman. Steve graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1967 and served in the U.S. Army. Steve had been a truck driver for Apollo Express in Jackson. He belonged to the Reading American Legion and enjoyed leisure time woodworking, sprint car racing, ice fishing and tractor pulling. He was also a Harley-Davidson Motorcycle enthusiast and loved horses. On Nov. 24, 1990, he married Judy A. (Becker) and she preceded him in death in 2003. Survivors include two daughters, Kelly (Gordon) Thomas, Quincy and Rhonda (Nick) Langston, Hillsdale; one son, Bryan (Keri) Zimmerman, Hillsdale; two sisters, Traci Moore and Sheri Mann; two brothers, Mike and Kurt Zimmerman and five grandchildren, Lukacs, Logan and Landon Zimmerman, Jamee Thompson and Jake Langston. ALDEN — Clifford "Tim" Weaver, 53, of Alden, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.He was born Sept. 7, 1956, in Miamisburg, Ohio, the son of Clifford and Mary (Wead) Weaver. Tim graduated from Elk Rapids High School in 1975. He resided most of his life in Alden, where he worked for The Alden Lumber Company, eventually becoming an owner. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited.He is survived by his son, Tim of Alden; and two cousins, Cindy and Wes. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Sandy in 2004.Memorial services will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m., at St. Luke Catholic Church in Bellaire, with Pastor Chuck William officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, Sept. 25, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Interment will be in Helena Twp. Cemetery. Victor O. Spade, 89, of Adrian and formerly of Woodbridge Township, passed away Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009 at the Charlotte Stephenson Manor in Adrian under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Lenawee. He was born May 11, 1920 in Ransom Township to Claude and Inez (Hill) Spade. He was married Aug. 9, 1947 to Mirabel Russell and she survives. Victor retired from Essex Wire in Hillsdale and was formerly employed at Monroe Auto Equipment.  He has resided in Adrian the past nine years and prior to that  was a lifelong resident of the Hillsdale area.  He was a member of the Frontier United Methodist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. Surviving besides his wife Mirabel are two children, Douglas (JoAnn) Spade of Adrian and Dudley (Nancy) Spade of Tipton; and three grandchildren, Kyle, Sarah and Katie. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers. Funeral services for Victor Spade will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Pastor Donald Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Frontier Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Wilna M. “Sally” Haack, 96, formerly of Bronson and LaGrange, Ind. died Monday, Sept. 21, 2009 at The Laurels of Bedford in Bedford Township. No services will be held at this time. Interment of ashes will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla. Sally was born Nov. 13, 1912 in Buchanan to Fred and Mabel (Kuhl) Wilcox. She married Kenneth Leister in 1935 and then married Clayton C. Haack in 1948.  They both preceded her in death. Mrs. Haack worked for Mohawk Doors in South Bend before opening Haack Doors in LaGrange, Ind.,  with her husband Clayton. They operated the business for many years until their retirement in the late 1970’s.  After retirement, they relocated to Brooksville, Fla., where they spent 25 years together. Sally loved to hunt and fish, she enjoyed oil painting, needlework, knitting and bowling on a league for several years in LaGrange. Mr. and Mrs. Haack together, enjoyed traveling in their RV, especially spending time in northern Michigan.    Wilna is survived by her sons Thomas and Suzanne Leister of Bronson and Brian and Johanna Haack of Charlotte, her daughter Sharon and Pete Rehm of Punta Gorda, Fla., her cousin Richard Wilcox of Buchanan, nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. In addition to both husbands, she was preceded in death by her son Fritz Leister in 1987 and brothers Phay and Everett Wilcox. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
