Beloved husband of the late Dorothy E (Grisdale), dearest father of Beverly Pasica and Nancy (William) Kremer. He was a very loving and caring father to his girls. Retired U.S. Post Office employee. He was a honored member of the Army during WWII where he received a purple heart and good conduct medals. He was a lifetime member of the DAV and also was active in the Eagles. Loving son of the late Edward and Virginia (Duveyoung) Berlin. Brother of late Mildred Ackley, Harold, Lester and Ernest Berlin. A long time member of St. Valeries Catholic Church and Guardian Angels (Detroit). He enjoyed watching his birds and he was an avid Red Wing fan. He is a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy WWII and retired electrician from General Electric Co. He is the devoted loving father of Pamela "Penny" (Donald) Spencer and daughter-in-law, Denise Christine. She was an elementary school teacher at St. Casimir's Catholic School in Posen, Mich. and Fitzgerald Schools in Warren, retiring in 1989. She was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church in Sterling Heights. She enjoyed fishing and bird watching; her greatest joy was teaching children. She had a master in education degree from Central Michigan University. She is survived by her brother Richard Jesionowski; six nephews; and seven nieces. Ms. Jesionowski was predeceased by her parents Frank and Victoria (nee Kieliszewski), her brother Eugene Jesionowski, and sister Dorothy Mulka. Service Saturday January 30, 2010, 10:30 a.m. at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church in Sterling Heights. Scripture service 7 p.m. Friday at funeral home. Thomas M. Jarema Thomas M. Jarema, age 65, a resident of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away Monday, January 25, 2010. Beloved husband, brother and uncle. Son of the late John and Marie (Metiva) Jarema. Tom was born October 7, 1944, in Saginaw, Michigan. He earned a MA in Guidance and Counseling from Oakland University. Tom was employed by Michigan Rehabilitation Services in Warren, Michigan and also the federal government at TACOM in their personnel division. He married Diana F. Brown on January 10, 1975. She survives him. Tom was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. He loved bird watching and especially classic cars and advising family and friends on restoring cars. Surviving besides his wife Diana are two brothers and four sisters, John (Marilyn) Jarema, Kathleen (Thomas) Martin, Joan Farago, Mariann (Allan) Rothschild, Dennis (Vicky) Jarema, Betty (Ken) Collins; sister-in-law, Elaine McPhail and brother-in-law, Joseph (Debra) Brown; and especially dear to Tom's heart were his nieces and nephews. His personal care giver David Lynch was a much appreciated good friend. Tom will be remembered for his kindness to others, his patience with life full of challenges, and his enduring optimism. Funeral Liturgy will take place 11 a.m. Thursday, January 28, 2010, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Zilwaukee, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Ronald Dombrowski will officiate. Honoring Tom's wishes cremation will follow with private burial of cremains in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, Saginaw, Michigan where the family will be present on Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Thursday at St. Matthew Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass. William John Gates William John Gates, age 88, a resident of Sun City, Arizona, passed away on Thursday January 21, 2010, in Banner Boswell Hospital in Arizona. He was born October 15, 1921, in Detroit, Michigan. In 1942 he was united in marriage to the former Dorothy Monette. He served in the United States Navy during World War ll. A 30 year employee of Champion Spark Plugs, he moved to Sun City in 1976, where he was employed for the Sun City Recreation Centers. He enjoyed golfing and achieved the elusive hole-in-one, three times. An avid bowler, he also accomplished the 300 game. He will be lovingly remembered as a devoted family man. His survivors include his wife Dorothy; children, Carol Snay, William Gates, Brian (Linda) Gates, Nancy (Andre) Fortier; seven grandchildren, Mark (Jennifer) Snay, Alan (Gail) Snay, Brian (Corrine) Gates, Joshua (Tami) Fortier, Grace (Ken) Schmidtke, Jesse and Jeremiah Fortier; as well as 10 great-grandchildren, Jacob and Lauren Snay, Alex and Ariel Gates, Mathieu and Aaron Fortier, Nicholas, Austin, Collin and Olivia Schmidtke.
