SWANDER, Anne L. Of Portage Passed away February 21, 2009 at home. She was born September 19, 1934 in Bellaire, MI, to the late Arthur and Iva (Crandall) Trumble. Anne was united in marriage to Robert Swander, who preceded her in death in January of 2007. They were together for 53 years. Anne loved bowling, travelling, her flowers, lighthouses, waterfalls and her kids. She loved animals and nature and especially her little Yorkie, Beegee. She always took care of her family first, and was always there for them. Surviving Anne are her children, Robin Anne (Kirk) Staller of Battle Creek, Richard (Connie Kosick) Swander of Portage and Ron Swander of Portage; grandchildren, Matthew, Kyle, Fred, Chad and Katelyn; a sister, Kathleen (Duane) Laubach; a brother, Paul (Cathy) Trumble; a sister-in-law, Marsha Burgstahler; a daughter-in-law, Dawn Swander; her good friend, Wilma Tays and her many friends in Okeechobee, Florida and at the lake house in Homer, MI; and several nieces and nephews. Also preceding her in death were a son, Robert E. Swander, Jr; brothers, Frederick and James Trumble; sister, Marion Gregory. No visitation is scheduled. Anthony “Tony” Joseph Petkus, age 90, of Adrian died Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility. He was born Jan. 2, 1919, in Bristol, Conn., Anthony and Mary (Guinis) Petkus. He graduated from Cass Tech High School in Detroit.  On May 8, 1948, he married Agnes Markavich in Detroit and she survives. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-1946. Tony had been employed by American Chain and Cable, retiring on Jan. 1, 1982. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council #1665 in Adrian, the American Legion Post #180 in Hudson, the Loyal Order of Moose #1034 in Adrian, AARP and the National Council of Senior Citizens. In addition to his wife, Agnes, he is survived by four sons, Anthony Petkus and his wife, Deborah, of Brighton, Mich., John Petkus and his wife, MaryAnne of Antioch, Ill., Richard Petkus of Adrian and Joseph Petkus and his wife, Joan, of Adrian; nine grandchildren, Bryan, Brent, Deandra, Matthew, Andrew, Maegan, Katie, David and Robert. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Edward Petkus; and a sister, Nellie Yesalonis. The Funeral Liturgy for Tony will be offered Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father David Hudgins as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the Hudson American Legion Hannan Colvin Post #180. Brandon  Lee Gordon ,“Gordie #22,” 16, of DeWitt, Mich., died, Sunday, Feb.  22, 2009, at DeVos Hospital in Grand Rapids.  Brandon laced up and skated his way to heaven to that giant ice rink up above.  He was born December 22, 1992 in Lansing.  Brandon is survived by his mother, Julie Gordon (Williams); his father, Dana; a sister, Marissa; his grandparents, Don and Barbara Gordon of Nottawa and Don and Marilyn Williams of Lansing; and an enormous amount of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and very special friends.  Brandon was involved in football throughout his youth in DeWitt.  His true passion was the game of hockey.  Hockey families all over the continent played a tremendous role in supportingBrandon throughout his cancer journey, especially the MSU Spartan hockey family.  His love off-ice was spending time at Sandy Pines Camping Resort.  The two-year battle with Osteosarcoma involving numerous surgeries and endless chemo treatments never stopped him from living life to the fullest.  His family is grateful to all his doctors and nurses that took such great care of him.  His motto has always been and always will be “stay strong and do it.”  Everyone that was blessed to know Brandon was inspired and touched by his zest for life, courage, strength, charisma and ability to always smile.  Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. today at Catholic Community of St. Jude’s in DeWitt.  A memorial celebration will be at 3:30 p.m. at the Munn Ice Arena on the MSU campus.  In honor of Brandon, please wear your “Brandon’s Defense” T-shirts or your Spartan apparel to his celebration of his inspiring life.  Those desiring may make contributions to the Brandon Gordon Fund, Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, P.O. Calvin Hicks Imlay City Calvin Hicks, 84, of Imlay City, passed away Sunday (February 22, 2009) at home. Calvin George Hicks was born January 23, 1925, in Detroit, the son of Earl and Lutie Hicks, Sr. Calvin grew up in Detroit and later moved to West Branch. He was a graduate of West Branch High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. Calvin married Marie Jane "Sally" Doran on July 24, 1946 in Detroit. He was co-owner and Vice President of the 4-H Mushroom Canary in Imlay City from 1968-1987. Calvin was a member of the Imlay City American Legion, Imlay City VFW, Imlay City Eagles and the NRA. He enjoyed reading, collecting guns, gun smithing and restoration. Calvin James Gossage Lapeer Calvin James Gossage, 81, a lifetime Lapeer area resident, passed away Monday (February 23, 2009). He was born March 8, 1927, in Doniphan, Mo., to Robert and Nancy Gossage. He married Evonna Hodgson on December 17, 1983 in Lapeer. Calvin served his country during WWII in the Seabees. The Seabees are the Construction Battalions (CB's) of the U.S. Navy. Calvin was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Evonna and Calvin loved country music jamborees. Charles R. Hawkins III, 57, of Gilead Township, passed away on Friday, Feb. 20, 2009 at the Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo following an injury. He was born on Dec. 6, 1951 to Charles R. (Bob) Hawkins II and Rita (Jensen) Hawkins in Muskegon. He grew up in Coldwater and graduated from Coldwater High School in 1970.  Earning a degree in Criminal Justice from Kellogg Community College, Charlie began working as a deputy for the Branch County Sheriff’s Department in the early 1970s. He changed careers in 1975 and became a salesman for the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Group in Coldwater. His work was important to him and he took great pride in building positive business relationships, especially in the Hillsdale and Sturgis service areas. He retired from Pepsi in 2005 after thirty years. In his free time, Charlie enjoyed photography, classic car shows, watching baseball and traveling the world. He was an avid reader and as a long-time cancer survivor was admired for his strength and courage. Most importantly, he was a family-oriented man who was dedicated to supporting his loved ones in their endeavors.  Charlie is survived by his wife, Svetlana Hawkins, who he married on April 12, 2000, in Fremont, Ind. He is also survived by his son Bryan (Kelly) Hawkins of Torch Lake, brother Mark Hawkins of Coldwater and sister Dr. Suzanne Hawkins of Holland. He was preceded in death by his father in 1995 and his mother in 2003. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at the Putnam Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Phil Palmer officiating. A gathering of friends and family will begin at 12 noon at the funeral home prior to the service on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be directed to the National Kidney Foundation. Clara H. Losinski, age 89, of Bronson, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, at Heartland Health Care in Three Rivers. Clara was born Dec. 4, 1919, in Bronson, daughter of Steve and Agnes (Czajkowski) Klavinski and was a lifelong Bronson area resident. She married Alby Losinski on Oct. 1, 1938, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Bronson. Alby died Feb. 25, 1994. Clara was a lifelong member of St. Mary of Assumption Catholic Church in Bronson and a member of the Rosary Society and Sacred Heart Society. She retired in 1981 from Doerr Products in Burr Oak where she had worked for many years. Prior employment was at the former LA Darling Company and former Bronson Reel Company. She was also an active farm wife, and loved gardening, fishing cooking, crochet and playing cards. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and Phillip Rzepka and Nancy and Larry Yerrick, all of Bronson; her son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Vickie Losinski of Sherwood; five grandchildren; three step grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her sisters, Alberta Malovey, Adelia Kubasiak, Geraldine Albright and Alice Ratkowski all of Bronson; her brother David Klavinski of Coldwater and two sisters-in-law, Norma Klavinski and Martha Klavinski both of Coldwater.  She was preceded in death by her husband Alby; her parents; and two brothers, Stanley Klavinski and Floyd Klavinski. The Funeral Mass celebrating the life of Clara H. Losinski will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary of Assumption Catholic Church in Bronson with Rev. Fr. Richard Fritz officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Prayers before Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Kolcz Funeral Home in Bronson. Dennis J. Delmage, Sr. Lapeer Dennis J. Delmage Sr., 66, of Lapeer, passed away Friday (February 20, 2009) at Lapeer Regional Hospital. He was born September 22, 1942, in Flint, the son of the late Kenneth and Dora Delmage. He married Judy Montgomery on November 2, 1963 in Lapeer. Dennis was an avid outdoorsman that handcrafted many muzzleloaders and judged many walleye tournaments. He was a member of the Lapeer Firelocks and Columbiaville Sportsman Club. He was also a member and past president of the Saginaw Walleye Club. Dorothy J. Murphy, age 81, of Tecumseh died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, in her home surrounded by her loving family and cat, Bo Bo. She was born in Palmyra, Mich., the daughter of Walter and Louise (Iffland) Engel. On June 22, 1946, she was married to Jim Murphy and he preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 2003. Dorothy was a member of the Tecumseh United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Irene Circle. She was also a member of Herrick Medical Center Auxiliary. She worked as a retail clerk for J.C. Penney Co. in Adrian, D & C Variety Store in Tecumseh, Bird and Company in Tecumseh, and British Pantry in Tecumseh for 40 years, choosing never to retire. Dorothy delivered Meals on Wheels, was a Girl Scout Leader for six years, and a volunteer for the Red Cross Blood Drives. She enjoyed spending time at their lake cottage for 49 years.   She is survived by her son, Dan (Linda) Murphy, and her daughter, Cinda (Duane) Brooks, both of Tecumseh; one sister, Hazel (Lee) Kayner of Tecumseh; four grandchildren, Rhonda (Martin) Miller, Wendy (Lon) Randolph, and Nathan and Kelly Murphy; four great-grandchildren, Tyler and Matthew Miller and Jacob and Taylor Randolph; and one stepgreat-granddaughter, Laura Miller. In addition to her husband, Jim, she was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter, Melissa Murphy. Dorothy was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Earl Wyse, a lifelong resident of Dover Township, Fulton County, Ohio, passed away on Feb. 21, 2009. Born on Aug. 25, 1909, Earl was 99 ½ years old. Earl was a farmer, a selfless supporter of those in need, a loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Earl bought his farm as a young man and after years of hard work clearing the land, draining it, built it into one of the most productive farms in the area. For many years he worked in the agricultural drainage business improving the productivity of many farms in the Fulton County area.  Earl and his second wife and companion of more than 50 years, Orpha, were selfless with their time, money and counsel as they assisted anyone in financial or personal need. Together they encouraged and supported young people to get an education, took those in trouble into their home with love and compassion, and never said no to any request for help. Many have been touched by their generosity. Earl and Orpha were long-time loyal members and supporters of the Swan Creek Church of the Brethren near Delta. Earl was a founding member of the Fulton County Horseshoe Club where he enjoyed the camaraderie of his friends and a successful career pitching competitively in the region. Earl was proceed in death by his parents, Samuel Wyse and Lavina (Stutzman) Wyse; two wives, Ruth Garner Wyse, Orpha Leininger Wyse; and nine brothers and sisters, Effie Eberly, Mable Pike, Reo, Ralph, Freeman, Laura Sampson, Mary Zenz, Carl and Alvin “Red.” Succeeding him are his two sons, Roger (Jaleh) of Palo Alto, Calif., Donald (Beverly) of Minneapolis, Minn, and daughter, Marie (Paul) Sprankle of Columbus, Ohio; five grandchildren, Ryan (Mary) Wyse, Dawn (Todd) Pester, Scott, Greg and Doug Sprankle; and four greatgrandchildren, Cameron and Connor Wyse, Hayden and Lara Pester. A viewing and the funeral will be held on Feb. 28, 2009, at the Swan Creek Church of the Brethren near Delta, Ohio, with the Rev. Dick Neuwirth officiating. Ernestine married Daniel A. Adamic on June 25, 1955 in North Branch. GARRATT, Frank B. Age 89 Of Richland Went home to be with his Lord on February 17, 2009. Frank was born on November 22, 1919 to H. Cal and C. Alene Garratt. He served the Eaton Corp. for over 32 years as a tool and die maker. In 1953, he married Betty Poe, who died in 1983. They were loving parents to Frank Bartrum Garratt, Jr. (Maria) of Ft. Lauderdale area, Janet (Alan) DeBoer of Richland, David (Diane) Garratt of Chicago, and Nancy (Kurt) VanderVeen of Richland; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren were blessed to join that affectionate kinship. A brother, John, preceded him in death, and brothers Bill and Don, of Battle Creek, will miss their friend and bowling companion. Three nieces and four nephews also survive. The US Army awarded Mr. Garratt six Bronze Stars and one Bronze Arrowhead during his service in World War II. He will be remembered as a generous friend and talented handyman who blessed family and friends alike, performing countless mechanical, plumbing, electrical and carpentry labors of love. Frank was a long-time, and dedicated member of Yorkville Community Church, which will host his memorial service on Sunday, March 1 at 2 PM. Henry C. (Hank) Wickey, age 89, of Three Rivers, and formerly of Centreville, passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009 at the Fairview Living Centre in Centreville. He was born in Nappanee, Ind., on Feb. 8, 1920, a son of the late Chris and Susan (Helmuth) Wickey. On June 23, 1942, he married Suzanne Hostetler in Burr Oak. She preceded him in death in 2004. Hank was a self-employed carpenter. Surviving Hank are his daughters Esther (Mark) Richman of Ft. Jeffrey Alan Jones, 43, of Waldron passed away Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Lenawee. Jeff was in construction for 20 years and was a member of Carpenters Union 1004. He enjoyed the outdoors and was the owner and operator of Jones Custom Butchering in Hillsdale. Jo Ann Cooney, age 86 of Centreville, Mich., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, at the Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. She was born in Bluffton, Ohio on June 15, 1922, a daughter of Ralph and Gwendolyn (Troxel) Patterson. Jo Ann graduated from high school in Bluffton, in 1940. On April 2, 1944, she married Robert Cooney, Jr. in Bluffton.  He preceded her in death on July 2, 2002. Jo Ann worked at the ASCS Office, Ranglers and the flower shop all in Centreville. Jo Ann and Bob also owned and operated the  Chubby Dairy Bar in Centreville and were caretakers of the Kirsch Guest House in Sturgis. Jo Ann belonged to the Lions’ Club Auxiliary and the Centreville United Methodist Church. She was an avid bowler, and loved fishing and feeding hummingbirds. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed. Surviving Jo Ann are; daughters, Janeen Hall of Sturgis, Colleen (Sammy) Goins of White House, Tenn.; son Robert Cooney, III of Centreville; sister,  Betty Clark of Milford, Ohio; sister-in-law, Harriett Snow, Kansas City, Mo.;  grandchildren, Daneen Birkey, Minnesota, Donald (Babette) Buel, Sturgis, Amy Smith, Sturgis, Erik (Brandy) Goins, Gallatin, Tenn., Erin Goins, White House, Tenn.; great grandchildren, Zachary Alwine, Avial McClain, Autumn Birkey, Adam Birkey, Maggi Bishop, Beo Bishop; great great grandchild, Avah Mott, and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and a great-grandson. “Jack” passed away on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009 at the age of 76 at his home in Clermont, Fla. He was born in Coldwater on July 15, 1932. He served in the US Army from 1951-1967, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He received the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Marksman/Expert Carbine Medal prior to his honorable discharge. He is survived by his wife Betty of Clermont, Fla., son Santiago Stockwell of Coldwater and daughter Yanina Maurer of Searcy, Ark. He is also survived by stepsons Jackie Crane, Steven Crane, Charles Crane and Edward Crane; stepdaughters JoAnn Gismero and Donna Crane; 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Owen and Ina Stockwell, son Miguel Stockwell, brother Ralph Stockwell and sister Betty Finley. A memorial service was held on Feb. 13, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of Ocoee with Pastor Kevin Courtney officiating. Judy was a breast cancer survivor and had been in remission for six years. Judy is survived by two sons, Thomas (Tommy J.) Hantz, II of Quincy and Michael Hantz of Reading; two daughters, Lori McLaughlin of Jenison and Char Mosby of Quincy; nine grandchildren, John, Jessica, Brittany, Lacie, Mariya, Tana, Marandya, Dekota, Montana; and an expected great-grandchild; sisters, Kay Easterday of Coldwater and Peggy Mason of Fremont; brother, Kim and Elisabeth Mason of Coldwater; sister-in-law, Rita Mason of Coldwater; nine nephews; and two great-nieces. Lily Anne Shirley Lancaster, of Fennville, died on February 20, 2009, from complications related to leukemia. Lily is survived by her husband, John; her sons, Jason, Matthew and David; daughters- in-law, Amanda (Paley) and  Brooke (Pillifant); grandsons, Magnus and Leif; brother, Gerald Steinke of Otsego; sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth (Wasz); brother-in-law, Bruce; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents, Herman and Alvina Steinke; and sister-in-law, Joyce Steinke. She was born Lily Steinke in Winnipeg, Canada, on November 27, 1943 to Herman and Alvina Steinke. Lily graduated from Portage Central High School in 1961 and Western Michigan University in 1965, and was married on October 2, 1970. Lily taught at Fennville Public Schools for more than 15 years, most spent as a second grade teacher at Anna Michen Elementary. Her former students were always called "her kids". She was also a dedicated member of the United Methodist Churches of Fennville and Pearl. Second only to her love for her family was her love for her community. Whether singing with the church choir, selling hotdogs at Rocket Football games, taking a morning walk with her bulldogs, serving as an EMT for the Fennville Ambulance Service, or sponsoring Fennville Odyssey of the Mind teams, Lily absorbed, cherished and reflected each moment. Mrs. Lois M. Heykoop died Thursday afternoon, Feb. 19, 2009. Lois was born April 21, 1917 in Muskegon Heights, Mich., a daughter of Jack and Alice (Lapham) Cassidy. She had been a Sturgis resident since 1955, coming from Muskegon. She was employed with Ross Laboratories for 25 years, retiring in 1981. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Heykoop, on July 14, 1964; and a twin brother, Louis Cassidy. She is survived by four children, Arnold (Betty) Dougan of Cody, Wyo., Carolyn Dougan of Sturgis, Sharon (Terry Mishler) Dougan of Kalamazoo and Myrna (Steve) Eckert of Fremont; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.  Services will be held noon Tuesday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes, Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Guza in 1970 at Saint Mary Catholic Church, Parisville. He preceded her in death Jan. 15, 1999., She is a graduate of Sandusky High School. Lou Wanda was employed at the Ubly Community School since 1981 in the cafeteria and custodian of maintenance. St. Cunegunda's in Detroit. He preceded her in death May 7, 1992., Mary lived in Bad Axe from 1986 to 2000 when she moved to Westover, Md. She was a former parishioner of St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Sheridan Corners where she was an active member of the Christian Mothers and organized the annual fall craft show. She was an active member of the Bad Axe Seniors. Her hobbies included ceramics, knitting, crocheting, reading, doing crossword puzzles and baking the best pies in town. She belonged to the First Baptist Church in Coldwater, she enjoyed socializing and playing cards, but most of all she loved to cook, especially for other people. Paul “Wally” V. Lashaway, 57 of Alvordton, Ohio for over 30 years died early Sunday morning at C.H.P. Defiance Inpatient Hospice. He was born Oct. 18, 1951 in Wauseon, Ohio to Lloyd J. Lashaway and Eileen F. (Myers) Lashaway.   Wally was an owner and operator of long haul truck driving for approximately 40 years. He had a great love for horses and being involved in saddle club events. Wally had a very special gift for making everyone he met feel like family. Phillip E. Seemann 1955 - 2009 Phillip "Phil" Edward Seemann, R.Ph., 54, Pigeon, passed away unexpectedly February 16, 2009 at home. He was born on February 10, 1955 in Saginaw, he was the son of Randy Lou (Gronski) Bruns and the late Walter Leroy Seemann. Following his 1973 Hemlock High School graduation, Phil attended Ferris State University, where he was a member of Phi Delta Chi Fraternity. He graduated in 1977 with a B.S. degree from the F.S.U. School of Pharmacy. On August 6, 1977, he was united in marriage at the First United Methodist Church in Saginaw, to Rosanne Marie Allen, whom he had dated since October 1, 1970. She survives him. Phil was a stem cell transplant cancer survivor. He worked as a Registered Pharmacist throughout his career-at St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw, Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon, Wrights Pharmacy in Sebewaing and RiteAid in Bad Axe and Standish. His #1 hobby was his family and his grandchildren, especially while swimming in the family pool. His church, watching football (including the Lions) and playing pool with his teammates were priorities. He enjoyed golfing, sailing, music and classic cars, especially his 1969 Cutlass convertible. Phil was a very good cook and loved grilling great barbecue food. He was an avid hunter, but often slept in the blind while hunting. He was a member of the Pigeon First United Methodist Church, the Pigeon Lions Club and the Hubbard Winsor Lodge No. 420 F & AM. In addition to Rosanne, his wife and soulmate, he is survived by a daughter, Jessica (Jerry) Spannagel, Saginaw; a son, Jason (Becky) Seemann, Saginaw; five grandsons: Phillip, Carl and Ian Spannagel and Austin & Jaxson Seemann; his mother and stepfather, Randy and Dale Bruns, Hemlock; his sisters and brothers: Sally (Ron) Bottke, Clarkston, Walt (Tammi) Seemann, Saginaw, John Seemann, Auburn and Doris "Dolly" (Don) Roy, Saginaw; his stepsisters, Debbie (Paul) Dembowski, Coleman, Donna (Pat) Kinley, Saginaw and Deanna (Mark) Stewart, Bay City; brothers and sisters-in-law: Wesley (Judy) Allen, Ernest (Sue) Allen, Howard (Pegg) Allen and Corrinne "Corky" (Gary) Nye and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter; his beloved in-laws, Howard and Erma Allen and his stepsister, Midge Bruns. Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at the Pigeon First United Methodist Church, with Rev. John Britt, pastor, officiating. Phyllis J. Harvey age 79, of Mesick, and formerly of Colon, passed away Feb. 21, 2009, at the home of her daughter, Connie Schwartz, in Colon.  Phyllis was born Oct. 13, 1929, in Battle Creek, a daughter to the late Burr B. and Lena Mae (Parks) Eberhard.  Phyllis grew up in Colon graduating from Colon High School with the Class of 1947.  She lived in Colon until 1985 when she moved up north to Mesick.  On Feb. 2, 1947, she married Howard Harvey in Centreville.  Phyllis was a homemaker and had been employed at the former Paramount Furniture Co. and former Kirsch Co. both in Sturgis and also at the Colmer Co. in Colon.  Phyllis enjoyed the out of doors, gardening, mushrooming, and enjoyed feeding the deer and birds.  She is survived by her husband, Howard Harvey of Mesick; two daughters, Connie Schwartz and special friend Ed Snyder and Kathy Shotko and husband Ron of Colon; son, Mike Harvey and wife Sue of Athens; daughter-in-law, Judy Harvey of Sherwood; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Eberhard of Brentwood, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a son, Raymond L. Harvey; and a grandson, Raymond L. Harvey II; and three brothers, Max, Richard and Clifford Eberhard.  The family will receive relatives and friends from 1-4 p.m. Tuesday at the Schipper Funeral Home LTD. in Colon.  Funeral services celebrating the life of Phyllis J. Harvey will then take place at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with David J. Richard B. Wolfe, 68, of Bryan, Ohio, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan, where he was a patient.  Throughout his work career, Mr. Wolfe was employed by the Ranch House for 20 years, Pepsico in Bryan for four years and was district manager for Certified Stations for 20 years.  Recently he was employed as an auto transporter for Casebere Motor Sales.  He was a member of Bryan Moose Lodge 1064 and Bryan Eagles, Aerie 2233.  Richard B. Wolfe was born Jan. 7, 1941, in Pioneer, Ohio, the son of Wauneta Wolfe.  He married Mary Ann LaBani on April 1, 1978, in Bryan, Ohio, and she survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are five sons, Ricky Lee Wolfe, of Bryan, Ohio, Terry A. (Jody) Wolfe, of West Unity, Ohio, Tom (Kara) Girten, of Whitehouse, Ohio, Scott Ickes, of Angola, Indiana, and Gary Ickes, of Bryan, Ohio, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Robert J. Yoakum, age 73, of Adrian passed away Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility.  Bob was born on Oct. 22, 1935, in Springfield, Ill., the son of Jesse and Carrie (Rucker) Yoakum. He graduated from Adrian High School with the Class of 1953. Bob worked as a finish carpenter for Krieghoff for many years.  Later he worked for Kewaunee, traveling extensively installing their equipment. Music was an important part of Bob’s life. He sang with several acappella groups and spent a year on a European tour while a student at Harding University. Locally, Bob played banjo and sang with the Family Circle Band. He was a member of Adrian Church of Christ. Bob is survived by two sons, Dr. James D. Yoakum and John S. Yoakum, both of North Carolina; three stepchildren, several grandchildren; a brother, Tom (Joyce) Yoakum of Connecticut; a sister, Shirley (Leon) Bacus of Gladwin; a special niece, Carol (Jeff) Rockwell of Adrian; and a special cousin, Jackie (Richard) Halsey, also of Adrian. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey, and three brothers, John, Jesse and Claude. Rosena M. Kelley 1916-2009 Rosena M. Kelley, 92, Port Hope, passed away Friday, February 20, 2009 in the Harbor Beach Community Hospital. She was born in Port Hope on July 12, 1916, the daughter of the late Frank and Mae (Merchant) Koglin. She was united in marriage to Stewart Kelley on Nov. 14, 1936 in Yale. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov 16, 1986. Stewart preceded her in death on Nov. 22, 1988. She attended the United Methodist Church in Port Hope. She enjoyed gardening, baking and cooking. She was a friend to everyone and she especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren. She enjoyed working on the farm and working with her cattle. Ruth A. Dover Lapeer Ruth A. Dover, 81, of Lapeer, passed away Wednesday (February 18, 2009). She was born January 12, 1928, in Michigan City, Ind., to Lem and Annie (Henderson) Carter. She married Henry Dover on July 24, 1965 in Bad Axe. Mrs. Dover was known by many as the "tea pot lady" at the local Bingo halls. Those who knew her, lived Ruth's enjoyment and energy for Christmas. In fact, she typically started in January shopping and planning for Christmas. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Ruth E. Reinhart, age 91, of Adrian passed away Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at Bixby Medical Center. Ruth was born on May 6, 1917, in North Adams, Mich., the only child of Arthur and Leta (Smith) Randall. She graduated from Adrian High School with the Class of 1935. Ruth attended Adrian College as well as Cleary College where she received her Associate’s Degree. On May 19, 1940, Ruth married Howard Reinhart in Adrian.  Howard, her husband of more than 68 years, survives. Ruth worked as a secretary for the First United Methodist Church in Adrian for many years. Prior to that she worked for Lenawee County Abstract. In 1982, Ruth retired from the District Court where she had served as Magistrate.  Ruth was a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church. She was active in the church sewing circle and also a member of a Literary Club. For many years Ruth and Howard spent their winters in Florida. They also enjoyed traveling with friends and camping in their Airstream. In addition to her husband, Ruth is survived by two sons, Jim Reinhart and John Reinhart and his wife, Sheila, both of Adrian; and three grandchildren, Kevin, Jason and Kerri.  The funeral service for Ruth will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at Wagley Funeral Home with the Rev. Stacy Edward Bradish, age 42, of Adrian died unexpectedly on Jan. 22, 2009, in Tallahassee, Fla. He was born Sept. 30, 1966, in Adrian. Stacy loved hunting, traveling and poker. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. Surviving is his mother, Jean Filter, and stepfather Jeff Filter of Wickliffe, Ohio; one brother, Rodney (Jackie) Bradish of Adrian; one sister, Tracie Bradish (Fernando Flores) of San Antonio, Texas; four nephews, Brian (Ashley) Bradish and Donavon Flores, both of San Antonio, Texas; Rodney Bradish Jr. and Matthew Bradish, both of Adrian; two uncles, Rod (Dee) Bradish of Adrian and Macklin Bradish of Indiana. MITCHELL, Mr. Thomas J., Sr. Age 77 Of Kalamazoo, MI Passed away Saturday February 21, 2009. Thomas was born October 4, 1931, the son of Hellen and Otto Mitchell, in Benton Harbor, MI. He was a graduate of Western Michigan University and Detroit University as well as Officer Candidate School. He retired from Ameritech as a Contract Administrator. He also was employed as a Network Engineer. Before becoming a Network Engineer, he served as Lieutentant J-G in the U.S. Navy between 1954 and 1956. Thomas worked with the youth in Hartland, MI as a Boy Scout Committee Chairman. Surviving are his wife, Jacqueline; ten children, Kappe', Roseanne, Patricia, Christine, Thomas Jr., Mary, Pierre, Paula, Monique and Cynthia. He was a grandfather and great-grandfather to 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Valdine Elaine Kidd, age 85, of Adrian died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at Grand Court. She was born July 8, 1923, in Temper­ance, Mich., to Ezra and Minnie (Ferrow) Brugger. On May 7, 1941, she married LaVerne C. Kidd in Napoleon, Ohio. He preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 1993. Valdine had been employed by Bixby Hospital, retiring in April 1985.  She was a member of Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church. Valdine is survived by two sons and their wives, Carl and Janice Kidd of Chelsea and Dale and Nancy Kidd of Tecumseh; two daughters and their husbands, Beverly and Jesse Underwood of Florida and Karen and Jerry Foote of Adrian; three brothers and their wives, DeArle and Lucille Brugger of Marysville, Ohio, LeRoy and Marge Brugger of Tecumseh and Leon  and Margaret Brugger of Adrian; seven grandchildren, Michelle (Roger) Moorehead, Craig (Beth) Foote, Angela (David) McKenzie, Shawn Boss, Bryan (Becki) Kidd, Grant (Kasey) Kidd and Darcy (Jake Clark) Niblack; nine great-grandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, LaVerne, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Robert Harper. passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2009. She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and grew up in Miami, Florida. She attended the University of Iowa, where she became a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and achieved a BA in Psychology. Mary Dean married Robert Way, who preceded her in death in 1990. They raised their family in Detroit, Michigan, and moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1980. Mary Dean devoted her life to raising her children, and to giving her time and talents to volunteer efforts in her church and community. In addition, she enjoying boating and travel with husband Bob. She is survived by six children: Stephen, Christopher, Peter, Anne, Gregory, and Andrew; nine grandchildren: Andrea, Lea, Lisa, Mica, Jody, Jason, Lillian, Dean, Daniel; six great-grandchildren: Isaac, Devon, Kenzie, Alarica, Aaron, Andrea; one great-great grandchild: Austin; and her sister Jean. Mary Dean devoted her volunteer efforts to Hospital Guilds in Michigan, serving on the state and local boards of directors. She volunteered in many capacities through her church and community in the Jacksonville area, including delivering Meals on Wheels, and serving in a variety of ways in her years living at Westminster Woods on Julington Creek. Wilberta “Bertie” A. Beaubien, 70, of Hudson, passed away Monday, Feb. 23, 2009 at home. She was born June 23, 1938, in North Adams to Marion and Ellen (Kunkle) Cooley. She was a member of the Antique Tractor Club, enjoyed playing cards, gardening, flowers, and fishing. On June 23, 1980, she married Leon Beaubien and he survives in Hudson. Also surviving are two daughters, Vicky (Carl) Sito of Stryker, Ohio and Cheryl (Tim) Ballmer of Fayette, Ohio; two sons, Jeff (Shelly) Honeycutt of Columbus, Ohio and Leonard (Nancy Beaubien) of Hudson; one sister, Pat Weindel of Woodville, Ohio; one brother Mike (Helena) Brown of Florida; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, David Honeycutt. Visitation is scheduled from 2-6 p.m. Thursday at the Cambria Baptist Church on 2772 Lilac Road in Cambria.  There will be a prayer service at 6 p.m. with Pastor Don Harkey officiating. William Lee Diehl was born May 13, 1953, in Lapeer, the son of Herbert and Pearl Diehl. He grew up in Metamora, Lapeer and Attica. He moved to the Imlay City area about 6 years ago. Bill was a graduate of Lapeer High School, class of 1971. He married Janie Schmidt on May 16, 1986 in Attica. Bill had been employed at Metamora Products as a molding technician for 23 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing and his dogs. He is survived by his wife, Janie Diehl of Imlay City; son, Christopher (Laura) Diehl of Flint; daughter, Holly Diehl of Imlay City; brother, Loid Diehl of Idaho; sister-in-law, Alice Diehl of Flint. William D. “Yoder” Isaac, age 53, of Sturgis, Mich., passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, at the Sturgis Hospital Emergency Room. He was born Dec. 15, 1955, in Sturgis, a son to Patricia Eberhard. William was adopted and raised by his grandparents Harold and Thelma Isaac and has been a resident of Sturgis most of his life. On Nov. 1, 1975, in Sturgis, he married Toby Sybesma. William was currently employed by Ross Laboratories Division of Abbott Laboratories where he had worked for many years. He had previously been employed at Bristol Valley Foods, Sturgis Carton (Americraft Carton), and Montgomery Ward. William enjoyed working in the yard, bowling, fishing, racing, karaoke, and spending time with family and friends, especially his grandson Logan, who knew him as “Pappa,” and his stepgrandchildren. He was a fan of the Detroit Tigers baseball team and the Detroit Lions football team and he enjoyed listening to country music, The Beatles, The Beach Boys and The Eagles. Surviving are his loving wife of 33 years, Toby; a daughter, Melissa (John) Delarye of Sturgis; grandson, Logan; grandmother, Thelma Isaac; three stepgrandchildren, Taylor, Sarah, and Jarrett Delarye of Sturgis; several stepbrothers and stepsisters. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Harold Isaac in 2004; daughter, Kristy Lee Isaac in 2000; mother, Patricia Sparck, and stepbrother, John Sparck. The family will receive friends and relatives from 2– 4 and 6–8 p.m., Wednesday, at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes, Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091. William P. Vogler Jr. 1933-2009 William P. Vogler Jr., 75, Oscoda, formerly of Harbor Beach, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at St. Mary's Medical Center of Saginaw. He was born in Detroit on March 11, 1933 to the late William and Anna (Slumba) Vogler. He and Betty Stocks were united in marriage on October 2, 1954 in Harbor Beach. Bill served in the United States Coast Guard during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Teamsters 299 as a truck driver. He was also a member of the American Legion of Oscoda. He is survived by his wife, Betty, Oscoda; children, Theresa (Steve) Ann Johnson, Wayne, Matthew Vogler, Oscoda and Pamela Black and her friend Tony Brardo, Westland; two grandchildren, Lisa Marie (Darrell) Ingram and Amy Lynn Jozefowicz and her friend Matt Young; and five great-grandchildren, Cammy, Dawsn, Alaina, Brianna and Jackson William.
