Charles retired from General Motors. David E. “Dave” Pankhurst passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2009, surrounded by his family at The “Mac” McGuire Skilled Nursing Facility in Hillsdale. He was born Dec. 21, 1936, in Edon, Ohio. He married Fran Watson and they were together for nearly 30 years. Dave was a lifelong resident of the Jerome and Moscow areas. He served his country in the United States Army. He worked for Clark Equipment in Jackson and then worked for the Michigan Department of Corrections where he retired from in 2002. He loved going to the coffee shops and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Fran; three sons, Mike (Jamie) Pankhurst of Crossville, Tenn., Tony (Kim) Pankhurst of Pittsford and Raymond (Teresa) Pankhurst of North Adams; one daughter, Ginny (Daniel McLouth) Pankhurst of Pittsford; one stepson, Ken (Janice) Watson of Jonesville; two sisters, Mary (Bill) Rose of Fort Mohave, Ariz. and Pat Gibson of Ohio; 20 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his foster parents and one granddaughter, Jennifer McLouth. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. David E. “Dave” Pankhurst will be held at the Hampton-Kurtz Funeral Home in Hanover at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 6 with Pastor Ross Graham officiating. Interment will take place in the Rice Cemetery in Moscow, Mich. She was born on June 11, 1936, in Chattanooga, Tenn., the daughter of Frank and Annie Green. She married Carl M. Campbell on April 3, 1952. She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 remarkable years, Carl; four daughters and two sons, Steve and Kathy Campbell, Sharon and Lawrence Ortwine, Sandra and Melvin Johnson, Phyllis and Richard Sawyer, Peggy Strachan and David Campbell; 17 grandchildren, Alyssa, Mark, Marlene, Sarah and Tom, Ricky and Courtney, Stephanie and Lee, April and Frank, Heather and Jimmy, Steven and Becky, Jessica and Gage; 23 great-grandchildren, Courtney, Amber, Lillian, Benjamin, Tyler, Jordan, Noah, Leland, Cody, Carrie, Arielle, Abigail, Brianna, Zoe, Skyler, Aaron, Noah, Ethan, Desmen, Brittany, Whitney, Erick and Adam. She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren, Lee and Amanda and two great-grandchildren, David and Austin. Mrs. Campbell spent much of her time in prayer for the family she loved and serving the Lord. She was a member of the Power House of Praise Church in Allen (former member of Corner Stone Bible Church in Ypsilanti). She was a wonderful wife and mother who truly enjoyed staying home, raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Campbell will be held at the Hampton-Kurtz Funeral Home, 3380 W. Carleton Road, Hillsdale at noon on Thursday, July 2 with Pastor Thomas Mann officiating. Interment will take place in the Kirby Cemetery in Adams Township. The family will accept visitors on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Don H. Bruce, 87, of Bowling Green, Ohio, died Sunday, July 5, 2009. Mr. Bruce was born July 23, 1921, in Ogden Township, Mich., to Robert and Fern (Harrington) Bruce. Don was a veteran of World War II; he fought with the 89th Infantry Division in the European theatre. He was a farmer, chemist and high school teacher in Blissfield for 17 years. He will be missed by all who knew him. Surviving are his wife of more than 50 years, Barbara (McDonnell) Bruce; daughter, Linda LaViolette of Indianapolis, Ind.; son, Michael J. Bruce of Silt, Colo.; sisters, Ellen Obee and Kathleen Buehrer, both of Bowling Green, Ohio; four granddaughters and three great-grandsons. There will be no services or visitation. Dwayne Ford McNall, 51 of Quincy, died Sunday, July 5, 2009 at the Community Health Center of Branch County. Dwayne was born Dec. 5, 1957 in Coldwater. He married Reanee Densmore Jan. 13, 1979 in Quincy. A long-time resident of Branch County, he was very active in his faith community and the Lockwood Community Church. He was an employee of the State of Michigan for 28 years. He also served as a reserve officer for the Branch Co. Sheriff’s Dept. and the Coldwater Police Dept. He is survived by his wife of 30 years Reanee, and their two daughters Kelly (Jeff) Kiersey, of Quincy, Tricia Densmore and grandson Owen Densmore of Coldwater, honorary grandson Daniel Pohanka, mother Janet Moore of Jonesville, siblings Rebecca Kelley, Kenneth McNall, Deanna Seals, Robert Carpenter and Charles Carpenter. He was preceded in death by a brother, Steven McNall. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2009 at the Lockwood Community Church with Rev. Shayne Looper officiating. She was born September 5, 1936 in Snover, Michigan, the daughter of the late Ervin and Bertha (Baer) Trainor. Edith moved to Sandusky five years ago from Snover. She was a member of the Brethren in Christ Church, Snover. She enjoyed knitting and crafts. She is survived by six brothers, Leland Trainor of Sandusky, Leon (Marilyn) Trainor of Snover, Robert (Norma) Trainor of Sandusky, Paul Trainor of Snover, Ronald Trainor of Snover, Kenneth (Donna) Trainor of Kentucky; four sisters, Thelma Hipp of Sandusky, Marion Bechtel of Lexington, Martha (Tony) Barren of Boyne City, Doris (David) Johnston of Sandusky; several nieces and nephews. Emery C. Biggerstaff, 47 of Mascoutah, Ill., formerly of Addison, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. He was born on Dec. 20, 1961, in Detroit  to John and Patricia J. (Watson) Biggerstaff.  He married Holly A. Dennis on Dec. 24, 1983, in Addison, and she survives. Emery was raised in the Detroit area.  He then lived in Addison for two years and then in Panama City, Panama for five years.  In 1989 he lived at Fairchild Air Force Base in Washington State for 12 years.  In 2001 he lived at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois and then he lived in Mascoutah, for the past four years.  Emery graduated from Wayne Memorial High School in 1980.  He worked for the U.S. Air Force as a Non Appropriate Fund Employee for the past 20 years, where he was a Automotive Skilled Center Supervisor at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois.  He was an avid Harley Davidson rider, a member of Harley Owners Group (HOG) of Spokane, Washington and Belleville, Illinois. Surviving besides his wife Holly are two daughters, Ashley A. Biggerstaff  and Ariel A. Biggerstaff both at home, his mother Patricia (Luther) Baker of Crystal Falls, one brother, John Biggerstaff of Devils Lake, his father and mother in law, Jim and Lila Dennis of Addison.  He was preceded in death by his father. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Addison.  Burial will be made in Hillside Cemetery. He was born January 28, 1940 in Deckerville, Michigan to Archie and Arolis (Bopra) McGregor. He married Kathy Black on March 5, 1960. George was a carpenter in Sanilac County for numerous years. He enjoyed painting, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. His last few years were spent taking care of his mom and visiting his many children and grandchildren. George is survived by six children, Dan McGregor of Carsonville, Don (Kim) McGregor of Marlette, Angie (Terry) Dennison of Croswell, Shellie Kenny of Lexington, Melissa (James) Minard of Sandusky, Kristen McGregor of Bad Axe; one sister, Judy Carmen of Grayling; one brother, Jerry (Hill) McGregor of Irons; sixteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a good friend, Charlie of Sandusky. He is preceded in death by his dad, Archie (1992); his mom, Arolis (2009) and one niece, Judy Rathburn (2007). Cremation has taken place. Gerald “Jerry” Cupp, age 77, of Mendon, Mich., died Thursday, July 2, 2009, at his home, following a long illness.  He was born on Jan. 8, 1932, in Three Rivers, a  son of Lloyd and Edith (Bussell) Cupp, and was a lifetime resident of Mendon. Jerry graduated from Mendon High School with the Class of 1950.  He was married to Lois Mae Bailey in Athens on June 2, 1951. Together they operated a farm south of Mendon until their retirement, and spent winters in Lake Placid, Fla.  Jerry loved working on the farm and hunting with his family in his spare time. Jerry is survived by five children and their spouses, Kerry and Anne Cupp of Centreville, Kenney and Debbie Cupp, Kim and Lori Cupp, Cindra Allen and Sandy and Wayne Wilds, all of Mendon;  14 grandchildren;  18 great-grandchildren;  two brothers and their spouses, Maurice and Margean Cupp, and Philip and Maureen Cupp, both of Mendon; several nieces and nephews; a brother-in law, Dick Bailey (June) and sister-in-law, Dorothy Snyder (Leroy), all of Athens.  He was preceded in death by his parents;  a brother, Dennis Cupp, in 1990; and by his wife, Lois Cupp in 2004. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday and from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. On Aug. 19, 1932, she married Marvin H. Rumsey. She later married Walter Kirschke on Aug. 6, 1956. Geraldine worked at Adrian College for 16 years. Geraldine is survived by three children, Jean (Chuck) Taylor, Bonnie (Michael) Bishop and Walter (Carla) Kirschke; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husbands, two sons, Alfred and Robert Rumsey; and one daughter, Helen Davis. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2009, at J. Isadore "Zeke" Micklash 1930-2009 Isadore "Zeke" Micklash, 79, Bad Axe, passed away Friday, June 26, 2009 at his home. Zeke was born on March 12, 1930 in Parisville to the late Leo and Bertha (Suida) Micklash. He was a life long employee of Gainor's Meat Packing. Zeke enjoyed doing whatever he could do outdoors. He especially took pride in mowing grass. Zeke will be greatly missed by his extended family, Gene (Nancy) Gainor, Doug (Bonnie) Gainor, Wayne (Debbie) Gainor, Pat (David) Stokan, Tina (Dutch) Seley, Craig Gainor, D.J., Danielle and Derek Gainor; W. James D. Haney, age 79, of Burr Oak, passed away Friday, July 3, 2009, at the Heartland of Crestview Facility in Wyoming. He was born March 1, 1930, in Morgan County, Ky., a son of the late John and Lulu (Haney) Haney. James has resided in Burr Oak with his sister for many years, moving there from Kentucky. He had worked for Victor Screw Products for a few years and was an avid fan of baseball, especially the New York Yankees. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. Surviving are two sisters, Earlene Stacey of Morgan County, Ky., and Oleneia Reaper of Burr Oak; a brother, Byron Haney of Fairborn, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ina Hill; and four brothers, Arnold, Norman, Larry and Iron. Graveside service celebrating the life of James D. Haney will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Burr Oak Cemetery, with the Rev. George Milliman, Burr Oak Missionary Church, officiating. Interment will follow.  Memorial donations may be directed to the family to help with expenses. Envelopes are available at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes Rosenberg Chapel, 807 E. She married John S. Kuzma. Lois graduated from Lapeer High School, class of 1944. She worked for many years as a checker at A&P. Lois ultimately retired from the State Home, where she was a disbursements clerk. Lois was a loving homemaker her entire life. She loved bingo and attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lapeer for many years. Guza in 1970 at Saint Mary Catholic Church, Parisville. He preceded her in death Jan. 15, 1999., She is a graduate of Sandusky High School. Lou Wanda was employed at the Ubly Community School since 1981 in the cafeteria and custodian of maintenance. Martha J. Klavinski, age 90, of Bronson, died early Monday morning, July 6, 2009 at Maple Lawn Medical Care facility in Coldwater. Martha was born Jan. 6, 1919 in Girard Township, daughter of William and Mary (Kelley) Tobolski and was a lifelong Branch County resident.. She married Floyd Klavinski on Nov. 8, 1947 in St. Charles Catholic Church in Coldwater. Floyd died on Nov. 26, 1977. In her early years, Martha worked at the former LA Darling Co. and Shaw Shoes in Coldwater and also at the former Douglas Corporation in Bronson (now Douglas Autotech). She was also a well known baby sitter. She was mostly known for her ability as a health care provider and care taker for many people over many years. She always chided that she should have been a nurse. Because of her caring attitude, many people have been able to live in their own homes instead of nursing homes for many more years . Martha was a member of St. Mary of Assumption Catholic Church in Bronson. She enjoyed walking, talking with friends and neighbors and her flowers. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Ralph Toupalik of High Ridge, Mo., Alice and Mike Cranson of Quincy, Janet and Gary Younce of Bronson and Candy and Mark Snyder of Bronson; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and her sister Veronica McMurtrie of Marshall. Also surviving are a special sister-in-law, Norma Klavinski and a special nephew, Edward Malovey along with several other in-law, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her twin sister Mary Hartsock, eight other sisters and four brothers. The funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at St. Mary of Assumption Catholic Church in Bronson with Rev. Fr. Thomas Fernando officiating. Prayers before Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Kolcz Funeral Home in Bronson. The family will receive friends at the Kolcz Funeral Home from 2 – 8 p.m. Tuesday where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial donations are suggested to the Bronson Volunteer Fire Dept. or to the Bronson High School Baseball Program.

Mrs. Mary Sarna, 87, of Westover, Md. and formerly of Bad Axe, passed away Friday, Aug. 29, 2008 under hospice care with her daughters at her side., Mary was born March 22, 1921 in Detroit, daughter of the late John and Rose Pleciak., She married Frank Sarna Aug. 2, 1941 at. St. Cunegunda's in Detroit. He preceded her in death May 7, 1992., Mary lived in Bad Axe from 1986 to 2000 when she moved to Westover, Md. She was a former parishioner of St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Sheridan Corners where she was an active member of the Christian Mothers and organized the annual fall craft show. She was an active member of the Bad Axe Seniors. Her hobbies included ceramics, knitting, crocheting, reading, doing crossword puzzles and baking the best pies in town. In Maryland, she was known as the "pie lady" where she took her baked goods to the farmer's market., Mary is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Marilyn White of Shelby Township, Mrs. Tom (Maryanne) White of Fort Mill, S.C., and Mrs. Grant (Rosemarie) Bryant of Westover, Md.; six grandchildren, Kristina (David) Kloc, Thomas (Amy) White II, Kerry White and special friend, Ashford Harrigan, Kelly (Mark) Kessen, Jerry (Susan) White, and Theresa (Jeff) Waldron; and eight great-grandchildren, Alexa, Kurt and Brooke Kessen, Matthew, Emily and Jack Kloc, Emma and Julia White, and soon-to-be-born Bryce Waldron., Mary was preceded in death by one son, Jerome; and one son-in-law, Richard White., Cremation has taken place in Maryland. The funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008 at the St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Sheridan Corners. The Rev. He also enjoyed roller blading with his dog and riding his Harley up into the mountains. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Lambright, 93, lifelong Litchfield resident, passed away July 2, 2009, at the Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility.  She was born May 17, 1916, in Litchfield, the daughter of Rex and Olive (Swope) Curey.  Pauline graduated from Litchfield High School and was a bus driver for the Litchfield Community Schools for 22 years.  She was a 70-year member of the Litchfield Rebecca Lodge and was the Litchfield site coordinator for the Hillsdale County Senior Services Center.  Pauline enjoyed camping trips, playing the piano and organ, watching soap operas on television, playing cards and painting in oils. On Dec. 23, 1934, she married Duane Lambright and he preceded her in death in 1987. Survivors include one daughter, Regina (Gordon) Knapp Litchfield; two sons,  Rex (Carol) Lambright Jonesville and Clifford (Judy) Lambright Onsted; one brother, Richard (Pauline) Curey Litchfield; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, two sons (Harvey and Charles Lambright), grandson (Tony Knapp), two brothers (Ransom and Levi Curey), and one sister (Ruth Lent). Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the George White Funeral Home, Litchfield, with the Rev. Clyde Wonders officiating.  Interment will follow in Mt. Robert F. Robinson Lapeer Robert F. Robinson, 77, of Lapeer for the last 23 years, passed away Tuesday (June 30, 2009). He was born February 19, 1932, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, to George and Nora (Logan) Robinson. He married Norma J. Smith on January 19, 1957 in Detroit. Mr. Robinson proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a paratrooper and paramedic. Being a pilot was always something he was very proud of, along with the fun fact that he participated in air show acrobatics when he was very young. Bob loved being a devout Catholic as a member of Immaculate Conception Church, as well as appreciating church architecture at his home church and everywhere. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being very family oriented - especially as a great dad. Rosalie M. Northup, 77, of Hillsdale, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2009 at her home. She was born June 21, 1932 in Hillsdale County to John and Ida (Williams) Winchell.  She was married June 23, 1951 to Fredrick Northrup and he preceded her in death in 1995. Rosalie is survived by three daughters, Linda Bilby of North Adams, Carol Kline of Camden and Patricia (Delbert) Howard of Hillsdale; four sons, Donald (Wanda) Northrup of Litchfield, Michael (Annette) Northrup, Dennis (Kelly) Northrup and Frank (Melissa) Northrup all of Hillsdale; two sisters, Imajean Spahr of Ransom Township and Judy (George) Sines of Pittsford; three brothers, Jack (Phyllis) Winchell of Hillsdale, Lewis (Ada) Winchell of Mount Pleasant and Ronald Winchell of Florida; 50 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Fredrick, she was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Vickie and Debbie; a sister, Doreen; two brothers, Fremont and Dick; and two grandsons, Jason and Richard Paul. Graveside funeral services for Rosalie M. Northrup will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday. at Cambria #1 Cemetery, Cambria Township with Pastor Paul Craig officiating. Sandra K. Fields, age 56, of Coldwater, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 3, 2009 at the Community Health Center of Branch County after a long and courageous battle with her ill health. A service will be held on Wednesday, July 8, at noon at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater, with Pastor Shayne Looper of Lockwood Community Church officiating. Interment will follow at Batavia Cemetery Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. at the funeral home Sandra was born on April 8, 1953, in Battle Creek to Elmer and Marjorie (Farris) Burk. Sandra married Richard “Dick” Fields on Nov. 2, 1979, in Coldwater. She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker and had also worked in Home Health Care. Sandra loved the outdoors, going camping, four-wheelering, gardening, canning and blueberry picking. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Michael Burk. Thomas Edward Lewis Lapeer Thomas Edward Lewis, 75, of Lapeer (formerly of Flint) passed away Saturday (June 27, 2009) at Lapeer Regional Medical Center. He was born February 13, 1934, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of the late Virgil and Mabel (Cooper) Lewis Sr. He married Janet Peterson in October 1953. She preceded him in death on January 1, 1985. Thomas was a charter member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church. He was a self-employed pipe fitter, specializing in high-pressure steam, while raising his family. Thomas obtained employment with GM at the Flint Engine Plant around 1974. He later retired from Pontiac Fiero. He is survived by his children, Kim (Phillip) Watters, Debbie Sholes, Cynthia Hicks, Thomas (Rebecca) Lewis; daughter-in-law, Tammy Thomas; grandchildren, Nathan (Katrina) Watters, Vanessa Watters, Amy and Beth Sholes, Geoffrey and Brittney Lewis; sister, Irene (Ron) Long. VIRGINIA B. SNOW MARLETTE Virginia B. Snow, age 89, of Marlette, passed away peacefully, Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Marlette Hospice Residence. She has lived in Marlette since 1955 and was previously from the East Detroit area. She was born January 20, 1920 in Detroit, daughter to the late Andrew & Ola (Biehler) Wiseman. Virginia married Robert Snow Sr. on June 22, 1940 in East Detroit. He preceded her in death March 22, 1997. Virginia was a member of the Marlette First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed golfing, bowling and most of all, her family. She worked many years as a secretary and treasurer for Snow Screw Products in Marlette. She is survived by one son, Robert (Susan) Snow Jr. of Marlette; two granddaughters, Michelle Snow & Fianc e Mark Wilson of Arlington, Virginia, Stephanie Snow & Mike Rogers of Key Largo, Florida; one brother, Robert (Grace) Wiseman of Warren; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Snow of Marlette; several nieces and nephews. Virginia has donated her body to the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Vernett E. Palmer, age 95, of Three Rivers, Mich., passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at Riverview Manor Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.  She was born Nov. 25, 1914, in Sturgis, a daughter of Merton and Edith (Laughlin) Miller. Mrs. Palmer has been a lifelong resident of this area.  She retired from Weyerhauser Corp., formerly Eddy Paper, in 1955.  She was a member of the Three Rivers Eagles Auxiliary #2303, American Legion Hice Shutes #170 Auxiliary, the Grandmothers Club, and D.A.V. Auxiliary.  On Dec. 31, 1936, she married Nolan “Pete” Palmer, who preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory a step-son, Donald Palmer, of California; a niece, Nancy Sult, of Three Rivers; a great-niece and nephew, Jennifer and Timothy Sult; and a sister, Marie Mayer. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. today at Riverside Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. William F. Kasdorf, age 80, of Sturgis, Mich., passed away Friday morning, July3, 2009, at the Sturgis Hospital emergency room. He was born Aug. 2, 1928, in Sturgis, a son of the late John and Lucile (Gross) Kasdorf. Bill was a lifelong Sturgis resident and graduated from Sturgis High School with the class of 1946. On June 1, 1947, he married Garnetta Bassett at the First United Methodist Church in Sturgis. He was a licensed master plumber and most of his working life was with Casselman Inc. Mechanical Contractors in Sturgis. At the time of his retirement in 1990, he held the position of corporate president. For a short time in his early life, he had worked for Holland Furnace in Sturgis. Bill was a dedicated member of the National Rifle Association, Life member of the Michigan Trap shooters Association and B.P.O. Elks #1381, member and past president of the Sturgis Exchange Club and member of the St. Joseph County Conservation and Sportsman Club, the Amateur Softball Association and was instrumental in establishing the first women’s fast pitch softball team in the Sturgis area. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wondering the woods of northern Michigan, trap shooting, in his younger years he was a private pilot and for 15 years he coached women’s fast pitch softball. Many will miss his knack for telling great stories and the wise advice he would offer. Bill had many involvements and interests in his life, but what he valued the very most was his family and many friends. He truly loved life. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Garnetta;, three daughters, Patricia (James) Brown of Kendallville, Ind., Ann Kasdorf of Portage and Tammy (David) Pagels of Sturgis; a son-in-law. Patrick Long of Ypsilanti; six grandchildren, Marci Long of Sturgis, Dustin (Jill) Pagels of Sturgis, Andrew (Miranda) Pagels of Sturgis, Joshua Brown of Ann Arbor, Jessica Brown of Kendallville and Ashley Kasdorf of Portage; three great-grandchildren, Nathan Pagels, Matthew Pagels and Gracie Kay Pagels; a sister, Janet Dillivan of Sturgis; three brothers, Howard (Grace) Kasdorf, John Kasdorf Jr., and Allen (Carol) Kasdorf, all of Sturgis; and several nieces and nephews. His parents and one daughter, Kay Long, preceded him in death. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, where a memorial service celebrating the life of William Kasdorf will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Robert Keim of the First United Methodist Church in Sturgis will officiate. Burial of the ashes will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
