CLARE ERNEST KOHN SNOVER Clare Ernest Kohn, age 86, of Snover, died Friday, July 24, 2009 at Covenant Cooper Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan. He was born September 11, 1922 in Snover, Michigan, the son of the late Benjamin and Bessie (Schultz) Kohn. Clare was a lifelong area resident and farmer. He also worked and retired from General Motors after more than 30 years. He was a Traveler, traveling to every continent. He is survived by two sisters, Nona Moore of Sandusky, Betty Grives of Sandusky; one brother, Norman (Verle) Kohn of Millington,and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the Marsh Funeral Chapel, Sandusky with Rev. David Pratt officiating. Cremation followed services at the Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City. Celia C. Clune, 92, of Coldwater, died Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility. No services will be held at this time. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery in Hancock, N.Y. on Friday at 1 p.m. Celia was born March 4, 1917 in Preston Park, Pa. to John and Jennie (Burdick) Jensen. She married Ken Neyld and he preceded her in death. She then married Arch Clune. He also preceded her in death. Celia owned and operated a country store in Pennsylvania before moving to Coldwater where she worked for Otto & Sons Sporting Goods for 16 years. She was very giving of herself and her time and was always able to help those in need. Celia, for many years, enjoyed the company of the officers at the Coldwater Police Dept and was known by many for her great peanut brittle. She is survived by her daughters Carol (Sissy) Sarnecki of Baltimore, Md., Laurie Parks of Coldwater, her sister Ruby and many grand and great grand children. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her son Ken Neyld and one sister. Memorials may be directed to the Coldwater Police Dept. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home. |

David graduated from Columbiaville High School in 1948. He loved working in the woods and truly appreciated the beauty of nature. He worked as a lifetime farmer, owner of a pulp wood business and truck driver for Vesley Co. before owning and operating his own rig. He retired from Ferguson Block Co. in 1993. He was born January 21, 1960 in Almont the son of James and Delores (Cesiel) Dzuris. He married Diane Schiebel on February 25, 1989 in Davis, MI. Dennis grew up in Romeo and graduated from Romeo High School in 1978. He owned his own company, the Dzuris Drywall Company for 25 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching football and riding Boogie Board. Effie Bosker Imlay City Effie Bosker, 99, formerly of Imlay City, passed away after and extended illness Friday (July 24, 2009) at the Hyde Park Assisted Living Facility in Flushing. She was born November 26, 1909 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Henry and Katie Vlieg. She married Garrett Bosker on June 26, 1929 in Kalamazoo, Garrett died in 1971. Effie had lived in Imlay City, Boca Raton, FL and Jenison, Mi. She was a bookkeeper for Vegetable Parchment Paper Co. in Kalamazoo. Eva Mae Sowle, 84, of Jonesville, passed away Monday, July 20, 2009, at the McGuire Skilled Nursing Facility in Hillsdale. She was born Oct. 27, 1924, in Frontier, to W.J. and Nora (Hammond) Westfall. She was first married Jan. 1, 1943, to Earl Lockwood and he preceded her in death in 1996. She was married Oct. 17, 1999, to W. Robert Sowle and he survives. Eva Mae was the owner and operator of Mode-O-Day Dress Shop in Hillsdale. She was a member of the Baw Beese Chiefs and a resident of this area all her life. Surviving besides her husband Robert are two children, Judy Ann (Charles) Alspaugh of Reading and William Earl (Sharon) Lockwood of Nashua, New Hampshire; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Earl, a daughter Vickie Lynn, two sisters Maleta Turner and Morine Gemmill, and a brother Edward Westfall. Helen I. Teadt, age 87, of Burr Oak, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at the Lifecare Center in LaGrange, Ind. She was born Dec. 29, 1921, in Springfield, Ohio, a daughter of the late Earl and Edna (Lankenau) Maystead. Helen was a homemaker and a resident of Burr Oak most of her life. She enjoyed playing cards, puzzle books, reading, sewing, and gardening. On Feb. 17, 1940, she married Clifford L. Teadt in LaGrange. He passed away Dec. 14, 1985. Surviving are a son, Douglas Teadt of Burr Oak; a granddaughter, Lisa (Paul) Bobby of Algonquin, Ill.; three great-grandchildren,  Luke, Brooklynn and Elijah Bobby; and a son-in-law, Richard Spence of Monee, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a daughter, Karen Louise Spence in November 2008. Jake worked for Mopar- Marysville Local #375. He was an avid deer and pheasant hunter. He enjoyed his farm and home, baseball, and playing with his grandchildren. Jake was the type of person that would do anything for you. He is survived by his wife, Doreen Wurmlinger of Croswell; two sons, David Wurmlinger of Port Huron and Nick (Terra) Wurmlinger of St. Clair; two daughters, Christina Whitebread of Oklahoma and Debra (Paul) Reeves of Plymouth; two step daughters, Betty (Tom) Shuler of Croswell and Denise (Adam) McTaggart of Ft. Gratiot, eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; three brothers, Joseph (Mary Ann) Wurmlinger of Clio, Anthony Wurmlinger of Lexington and Frank (Vivian) Wurmlinger of Frankenmuth; one sister, Katherine Logghe of Peck; several nieces and nephews many cousins and many friends and good neighbors. Jack Duane Carr, 74, of Raisin Township, died Monday, July 20, 2009, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 18, 1934, in Hudson, the son of Arthur and Lillian (Farnsworth) Carr. On March 13, 1954, he was married to Donna Thibodeau and she survives. Jack was employed at Tecumseh Products for 42 years, retiring in 1995. He attended the First Presbyterian Church in Tecumseh. Jack enjoyed his Paso Fino horses, traveling, and loved NASCAR. In addition to his wife, Donna, Jack is survived by one son, Mark (Lisa) Carr of Tecumseh; one daughter, Denise Stevens of Adrian; two brothers, Dan Carr of Camden and Warren Carr of Adrian; six grandchildren, Garrett Stevens, Megan and P.K. James Edward Robertson of Blissfield, Mich., passed away on July 20, 2009, at the age of 84. He was born on June 1, 1925, in Ogden Township to Isaiah Ray and Frances (Seeley) Robertson. Jim was a draftsman at Kewaunee Scientific Corporation until he retired after 38 years.  He was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Blissfield. He was an elder on the church board and served as its treasurer. He also proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Jim is survived by his wife, Yvonne, who he married on Dec. 20, 1947. They were very happily married for over 61 years. He is also survived by two children, Keith (Colleen) Robertson of Indianapolis and Connie Purkey of Tecumseh; a brother, Richard Robertson of Adrian; four grandchildren; five nieces; and two nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Philip Robertson of Adrian; a sister-in-law; his parents; and a niece.         A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 8, at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Robert Bidwell officiating. There will be a luncheon in the church fellowship hall immediately afterwards. Cremation has taken place and burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery in Blissfield at a later date. Josephine Gleason Hadley Josephine Gleason, 90, of a lifetime Hadley resident, passed away Saturday (July 25, 2009). She was born April 10, 1919, in Hadley Township, to Howard and Bernice (Greene) Tunison. She married Ronald H. Gleason in 1942. Mrs. Gleason was a member of Hadley Community Church for many years, teaching Sunday School for many of those years. She enjoyed stamp collecting, canning and baking, travel and camping, as well as being a 4-H Leader. Josephine treasured 25 years of retirement with Mr. Gleason, they wintered in Texas, among many other fond memories. She is survived by her sons, Howard Gleason of Lapeer and George (Maryann) Gleason of Hadley; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; siblings, John (Jeanie) Tunison of Hadley and Mary (Bruce) Barnes of Kewadin. Judith C. Ash, age 70, left this world on a warm summer breeze, Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. Judith was born Feb. 22, 1939, in Chicago, a daughter to the late John and Helen (Butrimas) Pokorny. She had lived most of her life in Colon, graduating from Colon High School with the Class of 1957. On Nov. 12, 1971,  she married Warren Ash in Colon. Judith had worked for the former Kirsch Company in Sturgis for 13 years, and later she worked several years for the Colmer Company in Colon retiring in 2002. Judith enjoyed word search puzzles, collecting owls and dolls and especially enjoyed time spent with her family. She is survived by her husband, Warren Ash of Colon; three sons, John (Lori) Ash of Sturgis, Mike (Jobi) Ash of Angola, Ind., and Brian (Debi) Ash of Colon; eight grandchildren, Crystal, Anthony, Amanda, Whitney, Kendall, Landon, Connor, and Briana; great-grandchildren Daison and Madison; two sisters, Betty (Greg) Griffin of Anaheim, Calif., and Delores (Richard) Ware of Sturgis; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Pokorny. The family will receive relatives and friends from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. Saturday at the Schipper Funeral Home LTD. in Colon. A funeral service celebrating the life of Judith C. Ash will then take place at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Mr. David J. Farrell officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Colon, immediately followed by a fellowship luncheon at the Colon Masonic Lodge. If desired the family suggest memorials be made in memory of Judith to the Salvation Army. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.   |

LESLIE LEN LESTER MARLETTE Leslie Len Lester, age 85, of Marlette, was born in Bridgewater, Michigan on April 10, 1924 to Lewis and Jenetta (Cole) Lester. At the age of one, his family moved to Marlette, where his father had a job opportunity at Riley Creamery and where Les would grow up in a Butler Road farmhouse. Les met Leona Hackel at Susie s Restaurant in Marlette where she worked and they fell in love. They were married in Caro, Michigan on the twenty first of February, 1945. Les and Leona were blessed with three children, Larry, Gary and Debra. Larry married Theresa and lives in Swartz Creek, where their two grandsons, Rob and Ali Lester and Philip and Tina Lester and great-grandson Cole also live. Gary Lester married Jill and live in Marlette, as well as grandchildren Mickey Hudson, husband Al, and great-grandchildren Casey and Alexis and Gary Lee Lester II and wife Katie. Debra Joyce Lester married Gary Muxlow and had children Tricia Muxlow, married to Tom Yaroch and David Muxlow, married to Kara, who all live in Marlette. Leona passed away on October 30, 1981. He was also preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Eldritz (Les), James, Lewis, Lawrence and sister, Louise. Sister Eunice Wills, brothers, Leland and Rich and sister-in-law, Letha Lester are surviving siblings. Verna Weaver was a companion of Les for years. Mary Ann Force was a special friend and neighbor for many years. Les was employed in many different occupations. He worked in Alaska, building roads, at Fischer Body, hauling beets, for Pete Losee in a body shop, at General Coach, for Len Sullivan and Bruce Lindsay setting up mobile homes and finally he retired from Metal Craft. Les and his brothers loved to coon hunt and always had their best friends along, the dogs. He also liked to spend time at the cabin up north. Lately, he enjoyed keeping track of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren until he passed away in peace on July 20, 2009 with his family at his side at the United Hospice Residence in Marlette. The funeral was held at the Marsh Funeral Chapel. Burial was at the Marlette Cemetery. Memorials may be made to United Hospice Service or the family. Larry Michael Sweet, age 45‚ of Constantine, passed away July 20, 2009, following a water sport accident. He was born in Battle Creek on May 18, 1964,  a son of Jerry and Sandra (Burke) Sweet. Larry graduated from Centreville High School in 1982. On May 4, 1985, he married Dawn Wahl in Three Rivers. They were later divorced. Larry retired as a machine operator at Dock Foundry and previously worked at Huddleston Lumber. He enjoyed snowmobiling, skiing, boating and riding wave runners. Larry also loved to travel, spend time with his friends and family and was an avid U-M sports fan. Surviving are his sons Jared Sweet of Kalamazoo, Matt Sweet of Three Rivers and their mother Dawn Boughton of Three Rivers; and brothers John Sweet of Three Rivers and Paul Arnold of Sturgis. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Sweet, and mother, Sandra Sweet Arnold. Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be received from 2 -4 p.m. Friday at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine where a memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday with Pastor Clint Zehr officiating. Leon E. Hard, 79, of Reading, passed away Monday, July 20, 2009, at the McGuire Skilled Nursing Facility in Hillsdale. He was born April 18, 1930 in Butler Township the son of Warren and Gladys (Williams) Hard. Leon graduated from Quincy High School, Tri-State University and South Central Michigan School of Practical Nursing. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a mechanical engineer at J.I. Case Co. in Racine, Wis., and was also a licensed practical nurse. Formerly a member of the Fisher Hill Methodist Church, he attended the North Reading Baptist Church where he worked and supplied materials for their Mission Circle. He also volunteered at Crossroads Farm Youth Ministry. His hobbies included gardening, woodworking and photography. Survivors include his wife, Emily (Rives) Hard, whom he married May 20, 1989; one step-son, Daniel D’Alessandro of Jackson; two sisters, Donna Graham of Louisiana, Joyce (Clem) McLain of Jonesville; one brother, Francis (Leona) Hard of Coldwater; one brother-in-law, Lowell Thomas; one grandson, Michael Carlson; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Carolyn Thomas and Lena Belle Hard; and two stepdaughters, Faith D’Alessandro and Sheryl Schmid. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the George White Funeral Home, Reading, with interment following in Maplewood Cemetery, Reading. Lila Mae Mitchell Lapeer Lila Mae Mitchell, 79, of Lapeer, passed away Monday (July 27, 2009). She was born October 27, 1929, in Brown City, to Ellis and Mabel (Jeffers) Stacy. She married Robert "Burr" Mitchell on April 25, 1959 in Hadley. Mrs. Mitchell was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was very artistic and loved to read, crochet and do crossword puzzles. Lou Wanda (Guza) Armstead, 56, of Sheridan Township, died Friday Aug. 29, 2008 in Huron Medical Center of Bad Axe., She was born Feb. 21, 1952 in Cass City, daughter of William and Wanda (Billot) Kipp., She married Leon F. Guza in 1970 at Saint Mary Catholic Church, Parisville. He preceded her in death Jan. 15, 1999., She is a graduate of Sandusky High School. Lou Wanda was employed at the Ubly Community School since 1981 in the cafeteria and custodian of maintenance. She enjoyed cats, crafts, gardening, needle work, and visiting with family and friends., Lou Wanda is survived by two daughters, Jane Ann (David) Sadro of Ubly, and Theresa (Dan) Hill of Bad Axe; two sons, Eugene Guza of Bad Axe, and Leon Guza Jr. and Karan of Bad Axe; and nine grandchildren, Justin and Daniel Sadro, Sarah and Kelsey Hill, Sloan, Kelsie and Darian Gross, and Rayne and Sommer Guza. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Margaret's main love was her family. Marilyn retired from Acorn Products in Quincy, after 28 years of employment. She belonged to the Coldwater Eagles Lodge, and enjoyed playing bingo, camping, sewing and crafts, gardening, wintering in Texas, and especially spending time with her family and grandchildren. Mrs. Mary Sarna, 87, of Westover, Md. and formerly of Bad Axe, passed away Friday, Aug. 29, 2008 under hospice care with her daughters at her side., Mary was born March 22, 1921 in Detroit, daughter of the late John and Rose Pleciak., She married Frank Sarna Aug. 2, 1941 at. St. Cunegunda's in Detroit. He preceded her in death May 7, 1992., Mary lived in Bad Axe from 1986 to 2000 when she moved to Westover, Md. She was a former parishioner of St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Sheridan Corners where she was an active member of the Christian Mothers and organized the annual fall craft show. She was an active member of the Bad Axe Seniors. Her hobbies included ceramics, knitting, crocheting, reading, doing crossword puzzles and baking the best pies in town. In Maryland, she was known as the "pie lady" where she took her baked goods to the farmer's market., Mary is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Marilyn White of Shelby Township, Mrs. Tom (Maryanne) White of Fort Mill, S.C., and Mrs. Grant (Rosemarie) Bryant of Westover, Md.; six grandchildren, Kristina (David) Kloc, Thomas (Amy) White II, Kerry White and special friend, Ashford Harrigan, Kelly (Mark) Kessen, Jerry (Susan) White, and Theresa (Jeff) Waldron; and eight great-grandchildren, Alexa, Kurt and Brooke Kessen, Matthew, Emily and Jack Kloc, Emma and Julia White, and soon-to-be-born Bryce Waldron., Mary was preceded in death by one son, Jerome; and one son-in-law, Richard White., Cremation has taken place in Maryland. Mike was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, canning and gardening. Michael R. Corsetti Metamora Michael R. Corsetti, 58, of Metamora, passed away Tuesday (July 21, 2009). He was born March 11, 1951, in Detroit, to Lawrence and Mary (Roberts) Corsetti. He married Bonnie Turner on June 29, 1974 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapeer. Michael currently worked at Graphite Machining in Metamora and worked in sales at Church's Lumberyard for over 17 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping and hot air ballooning. Mr. Corsetti was a member of the Metamora Lions Club and a past member of the Metamora Fire Dept. He was born April 6, 1917, in Grass Lake, Mich., to Joseph and Ida (Stoker) Brand. On May 16, 1942, he married Jennie Rothman.  She preceded him in death on June 11, 2008. Minor retired in 1980 from Daimler Chrysler. He was a life-long farmer and member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Riga, Mich. Richard “Rudy” Vallie, age 79, of Britton passed away July 25, 2009, at home surrounded by family and friends. Richard was born Jan. 18, 1930, in Lincoln Park, Mich., the son of Elius and Gizella (Kovatch) Vallie. He was a graduate of Britton High School, Class of 1947. On July 9, 1947, at the age of 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served in the General Headquarters, Tokyo, Japan, during the Occupation as a G2. On June 24, 1950, he married Anna F. Henry in Adrian, Mich. She survives. He worked as a self-employed bricklayer for 60 years.  Richard was a member of the Britton American Legion Glen H. Daykin Post #155 and the 40 & 8 Voiture Local #997. He was also a member of the Ridgeway Township Fire and Rescue Department for 30 years. Rudy was known for his love of hunting, fireworks, poker playing, dancing, and family get togethers. In addition to his wife of 59 years, Anna, he is survived by his children, Mark (Carol) Vallie of Tecumseh, Cheryl (Tom) Gleason of Clinton, Sue (Aaron) Hubbard of Manchester and Brian (Jeryl) Vallie of Onsted; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer, Donald and Janice Vallie; Cody (Ashton), Kyle and Luke Gleason; Amber and Joe Hubbard; Abigail and Josiah Vallie; three great-grandchildren, Jordan Vallie, Caleb and Ava Gleason; brother, Frank (Phyllis) Vallie of Stevenson, Mich.; sisters, Rose Curtis of Lupton, Mich., and Becky Ramage of Somerset, Ky.; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Vallie of Tecumseh, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, James;  and sister, Dorothy Rojem. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh, with the Rev. Fred Slagle officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeway Cemetery with military honors conducted by Britton American Legion Post #155. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh. A memorial service conducted by the Britton American Legion Glen H. Daykin Post #155 and the 40 & 8 Voiture Local #997 will take place 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. All other veterans organizations are also invited to participate. Roger Stewart Bemis, 75, of Grants Pass, Ore., died Friday July 17, 2009 at his home. He was born March 17, 1934, in Hillsdale, and graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1952. He married Mary Hubacker on April 9, 1955 in Kalamazoo. She preceded him in death in 1992. They moved from Illinois to San Jose, Calif. in 1976. He worked for Chrysler Corp. for 21 years until his retirement in 1990, at which time they moved to Ashland, Ore. He moved to Grants Pass in 1992. He is survived by sons, Roger Bemis II of Beaumont, Texas and Steven Bemis of Selma, Ore.; daughter, Deborah Bemis of San Jose; sister, Phyllis Sawyer of Jonesville and seven grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Chapel of the Valley-L.B. Hall Funeral Home. Private interment will be at Mt. View Cemetery in Ashland. Sevilla M. Miller, age 91, of Adrian passed away Monday, July 27, 2009, at Tendercare of Adrian. Sevilla was born March 29, 1918. in Greenville, Ill., the daughter of Irwin and Theresa (Gobel) Haddix. On July 24, 1937, Sevilla married Clarence Miller in Bryan, Ohio. They celebrated 45 years of marriage prior to his death in 1982. Sevilla worked at the Point Grocery and also at Muir’s Drug Store.  She enjoyed traveling to Florida and gardening. Sevilla loved animals. She was a former member of First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ. Sevilla is survived by her granddaughter, Susan Kope of Adrian; two sisters, Corda Curtis of Angola, Ind., and Grace Redmond of Pace, Fla.; many nieces, nephews and very special friends. She will also be missed by her beloved cats, and her dog, Ginger. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Ann Kope; brothers, Stephen, Ivan and Alan; sisters, Viola Keller and Elsie Stanbough; a stepsister, Shirley; and a stepbrother, Owen. The funeral service for Sevilla will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2009, at Wagley Funeral Home with the Rev. Stuart Proctor officiating. Thor S. Anderson, 79, of Union City, passed away July 26, 2009 at Heartland Rehab in Battle Creek. He was born March 5, 1930 in Battle Creek, to Anders Sigfrid and Marie (Larsen) Anderson. He married Joyce Katz on April 23, 1954 in Ceresco. Thor worked for American Woodcraft as a cabinet maker for 33 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of the VFW #5319 in Athens and the American Legion #298 in Battle Creek. He is survived by his daughter Christine Prince of Battle Creek; and sons Mark Anderson of Coldwater and Kim Anderson of Union City. Thor was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, on Feb. 1, 2008. There is no visitation scheduled. A memorial service for Thor and Joyce Anderson will take place at Ft. Born on April 17, 1922, in Tecumseh, to Bernard and Ila (Matthews) Furgason, she graduated from Tecumseh High School. She married Ivan E. Cramer of Hudson on April 24, 1941. He preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 1973. She is survived by sons, Wellington (Nancy) Cramer of Osseo, Lionel (Sue) Cramer of Pittsford; six grandchildren, Lisa (Craig) Taylor, Michael (Sonya) Cramer, Lori (Ty) Ward, Joseph (Melissa ) Cramer, Bradley Cramer and Kimberley Cramer; 11 great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Andrew Taylor, Brandon, Joshua and Emilee Cramer, Lydia, Mariah and Leah Ward, and Joseph, Joshua and Jaden Cramer; five sisters, Vivian Woods, Mary Cox, Josephine Ross, Shirley Schadewald and Ruth Greenman; and one brother, John Furgason. On Sept. 16, 1986, she married Walter Rowe of Clinton. He survives, as do 12 step-children, many step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Harold, Gordon, Glenn, Gaylon and Earnest. Cremation has taken place and a graveside memorial service will be conducted by Eagle Funeral Home, Hudson at the Leonardson Cemetery, Pittsford at 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. WILHELMINA ROSE SCHROEDER OXFORD Wilhelmina Rose Schroeder, age 94, of Oxford, Michigan, formerly of Sandusky, died Monday, July 20, 2009 at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility in Lapeer, Michigan. She was born June 19, 1915 in St. Clair Shores, Michigan the daughter of the late John Hartman and Mary Kurtz. She married Herman Schroeder on November 14, 1936 in East Detroit, Michigan. Herman died on February 9, 1985 in Sandusky, Michigan. Mina is survived by three daughters, Joyce (Rich) Plotkowski of Mesa, Arizona, Ella Mae (Clifford) Schultz of Lake Orion, and Nancy (Bob) Page of Columbia, Maryland; fourteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Weber of Livonia, Michigan; several nieces and nephews. Mina was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Howard; two sisters, Lucille and Norma; and one daughter, Faye Beardsley. She was a member of the Home Extension and Cash Flower Clubs for many years. Mina also enjoyed quilting and making her delicious blueberry pie for her family. Funeral services were held at the Marsh Funeral Chapel, Sandusky with Rev. Michael Schulz of Oxford, Michigan officiating. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery in Sandusky. Pallbearers were; Clifford Schultz II, Dan Lawler, Karl Schroeder, Wayne Schroeder and Roger Page. Honorary Pallbearers were; James Gilmore, Robbie Schroeder and Andrew Lawler.
