Judith Ann Burns

Wednesday, November 18, 2009 10:26 AM - GateHouse Media, Inc.

Judith Ann Burns, born Judith Ann Eastman in Coldwater, Mich., on Dec. 21, 1941, to Harlow and Vesta Eastman, was taken into the arms of our Lord on Nov. 14, 2009, in Dallas, Texas. She was raised in Hudson, Mich., where she graduated at the early age of 16 and continued her education as a graduate of Michigan State University. She relocated to Houston, Texas, towards the latter part of her life where she devoted her time to doing what she loved most, surrounding herself with children as an elementary Catholic school teacher. Judith’s priority in life was her own children and she was preceded in death by her oldest child, Timothy, in 1968, as well as her father in 1998 and her mother in 2001. She is survived by her remaining nine children, Melanie, Matthew, Michael, Teresa, Patrick, Kymberlee, Krysti, Taryn and Joshua. She is also survived by her only sister, Janice Hoffman, as well as two nephews, 13 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.  Judith battled many hardships in life, her illness being the most recent, but she kept fighting until the very end and it is that fighting spirit that will continue to resonate in the children she leaves behind. We all love her and she will be extremely missed but we know that she is at peace and can now rest eternally. Visitation with the family will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hudson, Mich., with the funeral to follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Father Richard T. Eberle officiating.  Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Hudson. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
