Arthur Warren DuBois, 86, of Litchfield, passed away Friday, April 2, 2010 at home. He was born Aug. 19, 1923 in Jackson, the son of Marvin and Elizabeth (Davis) DuBois. Arthur retired from Simpson Stamping Company and was a veteran of WWII. He belonged to the Quincy American Legion and loved outdoor activities, including gardening, fishing, mushroom hunting and playing horseshoes. On Aug. 7, 1943 he married Donna (Tasker) and she preceded him in death in 2008. Survivors include one daughter, Kathy (Robert) Lopez of Osseo; two sons, David DuBois of Hillsdale; Larry (Bea) DuBois of Berrien Springs; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Rex DuBois; one sister, Clara Butler; and two brothers, Francis DuBois and Vernon Linnabary. There will be no visitation or funeral service. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hillsdale County. Arrangements by George White Funeral Home, Litchfield.

Cheryl Jean Smith, 62, of Reading, went to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at home. She was born March 10, 1948 in Hillsdale, the daughter of Otis and Virginia (Flowers) Smith. Cheryl graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1966 and attended business school in Sacramento, Calif.. She worked as a returned goods specialist at Dresser Wayne in Fremont, Ind. for 15 years. Cheryl loved celebrating the little things in life and was an inspiration to many throughout her life.  She enjoyed coaching Camden girls youth softball, sewing, painting, ceramics and hosting gatherings for her family and friends.  She attended Restoration Tabernacle of Defiance Ohio, and North Reading Baptist Church.   Cheryl loved to spoil her children and grandchildren, and will be sadly missed by three daughters, Michelle (Bruce) Fowler of Allen; Kathrine (Dennis) Miller of Camden; Jessica (Tim) Miner of Coldwater; mother, Virginia Smith of Reading; sister-in-law, Robin Smith of Reading; former husband, Lloyd Smith of Camden;  nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Her father and one brother (David Smith) preceded her in death. A celebration of Cheryl’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the George White Funeral Home, Reading, with the Rev. H. G. Strickland officiating. Interment will follow in Cambria Cemetery 2. Visitation is scheduled Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hillsdale County.

Donald G. “Don” Morrow, of Coldwater, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010, at his home. He was born Dec. 22, 1947, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Lawrence and Edith (Stevens) Morrow. He married Janet Foulk in 1978 and she survives. He is also survived by one son, Danny Foulk of Hillsdale; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn Foulk, Halie Foulk, Allison Horn and Clair Bennett all of Hillsdale; two brothers, David (Jackie) Morrow and Richard Morrow both of Columbus, Ohio and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and one sister. Don retired from Metalloy in Hudson after over 20 years of service and then continued to work doing odd jobs in the area. He enjoyed life, bike riding, golf, fishing and his many friends. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Donald G. “Don” Morrow will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Hampton-Kurtz Funeral Home in Hillsdale. Interment will take place in Berg Cemetery in Camden Township. The family will receive friends for visitation 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Hillsdale. Edith Ann Watkins Worley Ash, 94, of Osseo passed away Thursday, April 1, 2010, at Drews Place of Hillsdale. She was born April 16, 1915, to David William Watkins and Elnora (Barnum) Watkins in Osseo. Edith Ann married Virgil Worley in 1937 and he preceded her in death in 1962. She later married Loren Ash in 1964 and he preceded her in death in 1966. Edith graduated from Osseo High School in 1932, Hillsdale College in 1936 and she taught high school English, French, and history in several Hillsdale County schools including Allen, North Adams and Reading. Edith's passions in life were love for her family; learning and teaching anything in the humanities including English language arts, music, French and history; genealogy; traveling and farming. In her retirement she focused on genealogy and wrote many of the biographical pieces of the people with roots in Hillsdale County found in Volumes I and II of “150 Years in the Hills and Dales” in 1976. She then wrote a family genealogy book, “The Reynolds Pioneering Chronicles: New York and Southern Michigan” (1995) after collaborating with Gay Wojtowicz, a New York cousin. The book was published by the McNaughton family in conjunction with the First National Bank of Fremont, Ind. Monographs Edith published include: “Michigan Literary Landmarks Monograph One: A Literary History of Mackinac Island” (1973); “Lingering Shadows of the Fleur De Lis” (1975); “Wafting Winds of the Revolution in Michigan Literature” (1976) and “Miss Big Fiddle: The Saga of Burky of Superior View Lodge at Deer Park, Michigan” (1980). Edith was a member of the Osseo United Methodist Church where she played the piano and the organ. She was a life-long member of her college music sorority Sigma Alpha Iota at Hillsdale College. Edith was a member of the Hillsdale County chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, an honorary teaching sorority for masterful women teachers. She also was an active member of the Hillsdale County Historical Society for many years. Surviving are three children, Vincent (Judy) Worley of Hartland, Wis., Elisbeth (Liz) Worley Webb of Osseo and Roy (Mary) Worley of Osseo; two stepchildren, Duane (Patsy) Ash of Corunna and Beverly (Bob) Ash Fairbanks of Swartz Creek; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Besides her first husband Virgil and second husband Loren, Edith Ann Ash was preceded in death by her mother, brother Almon David Watkins, and great-uncle and aunt Flemming W. (Edith Watkins) Dailey. There will be a celebration of Edith's life 2 p.m. Monday at the Osseo United Methodist Church with Pastor Don Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Jefferson Township. The family will receive friends for visitation 12:30 p.m. until the 2 p.m. time of service at the church. Edwin James Faust, 71, of Britton passed away on Friday, April 2, 2010, at his home. He was born on Nov. 22, 1938, in Britton, Mich., the son of Otto and Charlotte (Williams) Faust. On March 30, 1963, Ed married Gloria Hummel. She survives. Ed worked as a self-employed farmer and for Ford Motor Company in Saline, retiring in 1993. After retirement, Ed enjoyed spending time year-round at his cabin on Elbow Lake in Harrison, Mich. He loved to get together with friends and share coffee and conversation at the Blissfield Elevator as often as he could. Ed’s absolute favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandson. He will be dearly missed. Surviving is his wife, Gloria Faust, of Britton; three daughters, Kristy Faust of Tecumseh, Cindy Faust of Britton and Sherry Faust of Britton; two brothers, Bob Faust of Colorado and Dick Faust of Clinton; two sisters, Norma Buggy of Milan, Mich., and Betty Carothers of Clinton; two grandchildren, Jessica Faust and Zachary Wimmer; and a great-grandson, Christian Arevalo-Faust. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Michael L. Faust and one grandson, Michael O. Faust. Funeral services for Ed will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Palmyra with the the Rev. Gary Leking officiating. Burial will follow in Palmyra Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Monday from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Tagsold Funeral Home in Blissfield. George E. Swalley, age 87, of Sturgis, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2010, at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis. He was born Oct. 30, 1922, in Howe, Ind., a son to the late Phillip and Ada (Monroe) Swalley. On June 22, 1942, he married Stephanie M. Bizjak in Waukegan, Ill..    George was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving for two years.   He was a mechanic by trade and worked several years at G.L. Miller Dodge in Waukegan, Ill., Miller-Krueger Dodge in Libertyville, Ill., and Ammco Tool in Waukegan, Ill.  In 1972, he and his wife moved to Sturgis, where he was employed for Sutton Tool until his retirement. He had a gift to gab and he loved playing cribbage. Surviving are two daughters, Marilyn (Gary) Cookson of White Pigeon, and Jeannette (Troy) Haines of Beach Park, Ill.; daughter-in-law, Shirley Swalley of Zion, Ill.; nine grandchildren, Cary Cookson, Jason Cookson, Jami Haines, Bryan Haines, Tami Efsen, Jeff Swalley, Steve Swalley, Shanna Swalley, and Stacy Creamer; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Martha Ellis of Beach Park, Ill.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to friends that thought so much of their father: Brian Sandell, Don Bertva, Dorothy Coats, Sally Stevens and Sharon Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Stephanie in June 2007; a son, James in February 2007; a brother; and four sisters. According to his wishes, there will be no visitation or services, as cremation has taken place. A private family burial will take place at a later date. George W. Heeman, age 89, of Tecumseh passed away April 2, 2010, at Cambrian Assisted Living Home. George was born Dec. 30, 1920, in Britton, Mich., the son of George and Carrie Heeman. On June 22, 1940, he married Hilda Meyers. She survives.  Upon graduation from Britton High School he worked for Tecumseh Products, retiring in 1976. He enjoyed bowling and golfing in his spare time. George and Hilda retired to Florida in 1990, and resided there until 2008, returning to Tecumseh. George was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tecumseh.  Besides his wife Hilda, George is survived by a son, George (Geri) Heeman of Tecumseh; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Brenda Starkweather; four sisters; and one brother. A memorial service will be held at noon Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Pastor Philip Krieger officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at noon, Tuesday. Harvey C. Eschenburg Harvey C. Eschenburg, age 73, of Macomb Township, died Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Harvey was born March 28, 1937, in Clinton Township, a son of Leonard and Rufena (nee Mittelstedt) Eschenburg. A 1955 graduate of Mount Clemens High School, Harvey served his country in the U.S. Navy. On June 1, 1963, Harvey married Janet Blomberg at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mount Clemens. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a master's degree in education from Wayne State University, a master's degree in counseling from Oakland University and was a professional licensed counselor. Harvey was an instructor and counselor at Oakland Community College. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Macomb where he formerly served as an Elder and Board of Education member. Harvey was also a member of the Men's Club, the Senior Bible Class, the Friday Men's Bible Class and an Honorary Ladies Aid member. He was a journeyman machine repairman and enjoyed restoring antique tractors. He also took pleasure in making large, stained glass pieces and lamps, mowing grass and working in his garage. Surviving are his wife, Janet; daughter, Paula (Tim) Techlin; granddaughter, Hope Lois Techlin; sister, Ruth Lanker and several nieces and nephews. Harvey was predeceased by his son, John; brothers, Leland and Howard Eschenburg; and his parents. A Funeral Service is 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 41720 Romeo Plank, Macomb, with the Rev. Michael J. Lutz officiating. Burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. John A. Roose, 66, of LaGrange, Ind., died Thursday, April 1, 2010, at Parkview LaGrange Hospital in LaGrange. John was a lifelong LaGrange County resident and a United States Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War.  He worked for 10 years at DeRand Kitchens in Sturgis, before he retired from Abbott Labs in Sturgis, after 21 years of service.  After his retirement, he worked at Eagleson Auto and Norris Truck, both in LaGrange.  He was a member of the LaGrange American Legion Post #215 for 40 years, a charter member of the LA Breakfast Club, attended the First United Methodist Church of LaGrange, and for many years was active with the LaGrange County Girls Softball League. His grandchildren were the light of his life and he always was full of laughter.  He loved old vehicles, especially Fords, and anything to do with speed. John was born on Feb. 28, 1944, in Goshen, Ind., to Carl A. and Mildred L. (Biller) Roose. They both preceded him in death.  On April 20, 1968, in Kendallville, Ind.,  he married Sandra A. “Sande” Billings; Mrs. Roose survives in LaGrange. Also surviving are a daughter; and son-in-law, Ginger and Major Clifton Trout of Fort Belvoir, Va.; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Amy Roose of Howe, Ind.; six grandchildren, Christian, Keirstin, and Kya Roose and Jackson, Carter, and Tyler Trout; and a brother and sister-in-law, David W. and Susan Roose of Rock Hill, S.C. Also preceding him in death was a daughter, Kirsten Roose, on May 9, 1971. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Frurip-May Funeral Home, with the Rev. Chris Danielson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in LaGrange with LaGrange American Legion conducting a military graveside service. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. He was born May 20, 1915 in North Adams, MI to Percy and Julia (Barnhart) Owens.  John graduated from Reading High School in 1934 and was employed 43 years as the superintendent of buildings and grounds at the Reading Community Schools. A great community supporter and volunteer, John was active in the Reading Rotary Club for over 60 years, belonged to the Reading Fire Department over 40 years, and was a 68 year member of the Reading United Methodist Church. He was also an avid fan and supporter of Reading athletics and he loved spending time fishing and hunting. He is described by his family as “one great father who never spoke a cross word”. Survivors include his wife, Margaret (Northrup) Owens, whom he married March 28, 1935; three children, Jerry Owens of San Luis Potosi, Mexico; John (JoAnn) Owens of Reading, Joan Renner of Addison; one brother, Virgil (Ruth) Owens of Jonesville; three granddaughters and 10 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Lyle Owens. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Owens High School Auxiliary Gymnasium, with Pastor DeAnn Dobbs officiating. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Reading. Visitation is scheduled from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the George White Funeral Home, Reading. He married Darlene R. Hicks and had three children. He later married Beverly McClish on July 25, 1977, in Mendon. Keith had worked 37 years for the St. Joseph County Road Commission, and had also farmed all his life. He enjoyed hunting, mushroom hunting, looking for arrowheads and going up north to the cabin. He is survived by his wife Beverly Kline of Leonidas; children Douglas Kline of Mendon, Stephen Kline of Sturgis, Kimberly VanVorst of Colon and Precious Kline of Leonidas; two stepchildren, Lori (Joseph) McClain of Three Rivers and Ralph (Bud) (Michelle) Town of Colon; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Randy Kline of Three Rivers; a sister, Patricia Palmiter of Athens; and several nieces and nephews.  The family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Schipper Funeral Home in Colon.   Funeral services celebrating the life of Keith E. Louis was born in Florence Twp., on March 9, 1922,  the son of Michael T. and Jennie (Weaver) Everett.  He farmed in his youth and worked construction most of his adult life. Louis served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific during World War II. On Nov. 2, 1947, he married Patricia Dimmick in Three Rivers. Louis and his wife enjoyed camping and traveled all around Michigan. He also enjoyed his ponies and antique tractor shows. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Pat Everett, Constantine; daughter Lynn (Gordon) Clevenger of  Centreville;  sons James (Gayle) Everett of Three Rivers and Richard Everett of Constantine; eight grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren; sister Leona Glase of Elkhart, Ind.; sister-in-law Carolyn Everett of Lawton; many nieces and nephews. Robert C. McClure, age 77, of Tecumseh died March 31, 2010. He was born July 24, 1932, in Mt. Morris, Pa., the son of Raymond Clifford and Clara Marie (Ritter) McClure. On April 4, 1953, he married Mary L. Rose in Adrian, Mich. She preceded him in death on Sept. 20, 2008. Robert worked for Gentner Trucking and was a 30-year volunteer member of the Irish Hills Fire Department. Robert is survived by four sons, Ronald, Donald (Phyllis), Ray (Renee) and Brian (Kathleen); 10 grandchildren, Rhonda, Ronald Jr., Justin, Steven, Timothy, Rachel, Maria, Joseph, Daniel and Meg; three great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Underwood; and his best buddy, “Bouncer.” In addition to his wife, Mary, he was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, John Marshall; a daughter, Lynette; son, Arnold; and a brother, John William Marshall.  Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh, with the Rev. Lloyd Jewett officiating. Interment will follow at Lenawee Hills Memorial Park, Adrian. Robert is survived by two daughters, Christy Myers of Hudson and Patience Myers of Jerome; two sisters, Betty Ogden of Massachusetts and Donna Hamilton of Kentucky; and three grandchildren, Alexzandra, Emily and Elizabeth. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services for Robert will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian with Pastor Douglas Winters officiating. Burial will be in the Bledsoe Family Cemetery in Stickleyville, Va. on Saturday. Roger Allen Scheuerman, 81, of Zeeland, formerly of Adrian, died peacefully on April 2, 2010, at his home with his family at his bedside. He was born Jan. 11, 1929, in Toledo, Ohio, to Ernest and Ellen (Peterson) Scheuerman. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Adrian in 1946. Roger enlisted in the Army and spent a tour of duty in Japan.  Roger learned the building trade from his father, constructing and remodeling homes in Michigan and Florida. His career encompassed the related fields of real estate, appraising, and subdivision development. On Oct. 17, 1959, he married Margaret Schwartz at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Adrian. He was employed by First Federal Savings and Loan and then began his own business, Scheuerman Real Estate and Appraisal Services, with his wife and later his son, Daniel, and his nephew, Richard “Butch” Schwartz, retiring in 1994. Roger was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Church and Holland Country Club in Holland and a former member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and its Usher’s Club, Knights of Columbus, Lenawee Country Club, and the Lenawee County Board of Realtors in Adrian. Roger is survived by a son, Daniel Scheuerman and his spouse, Cheryl, of Zeeland; four daughters, Martha Scheuerman of Spring Lake, Marie Caron and her spouse, Robert, of Naples, Maine; Lisa Keller and her spouse, Brin, of Grand Ledge, and Amy Smith and her spouse, Owen, of Grand Ledge; one brother, Ernest Scheuerman (Helen) of Holland; six grandchildren, Courtney, Drew, Cristina and Taylor Scheuerman of Zeeland, and Robert and Rebecca Caron of Naples, Maine; one brother-in-law, Kenneth Schwartz (Genevieve) of Adrian; one sister-in-law, Catherine Wielfaert of Britton; and many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins. Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, his parents, one brother, Keith Scheuerman; and grandchildren, Maggie, Dane and Cara Scheuerman. Roger enjoyed an active lifestyle, golfing with his buddies and family, bowling and bicycling. He loved riding his bike with his family in the Zeeland area and to the Holland State Park to watch the boats pass through the channel. The Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Adrian, with the Rev. David Hudgins, as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Adrian. Friends may call at the Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E.16th St., Holland, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 5, 2010. He was born Sept. 19, 1924, in Tecumseh, the son of Vernon and Laura (Steele) Miller. He was married to Theresa Solarski and she survives. Russell retired from Tecumseh Products after 43 years of employment. After retirement, he worked for Burns Security in Ann Arbor for several years. He was a former member of the Tecumseh American Legion. Russell enjoyed working on engines in his spare time and spending time with family and friends. In addition to his wife, Theresa, Russell is survived by three sons, Gregory Miller and Vincent (Penny) Miller of Tecumseh, and Dennis (Julie) Miller of Sand Creek; one daughter, Elizabeth (Rick) Steele of League City, Texas; one brother, Robert Miller of Tecumseh; one sister, Betty (Sy) Dillon of Tecumseh; seven grandchildren, David, Carrie, Daniel, Noah, and Benjamin Miller and Corey and Cally Steele; and one great-grandson, Bradley Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kenneth and Stanley Miller; and two sisters, Lila Eddinger and Joyce Russell. Russell was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Scott W. Shultz, age 49, of Sturgis, passed away unexpectedly Monday afternoon, March 29, 2010, at his home. He was born July 24, 1960, in Sturgis, a son of Cleon and Janet (Holtz) Shultz. He was a lifelong Sturgis resident and a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1979. He was a dedicated and loyal employee of Lakeland Paper Company in Sturgis for nearly 30 years. Scott enjoyed mushroom hunting, cooking and watching movies. Scott truly loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his parents; two sisters, Stacy Bontrager of Sturgis and Jennifer (Craig) Shoup of Galesburg; a brother-in-law, Alvin Bontrager of Sturgis; two nieces, Courtney (Kent) Schmucker and Alecia (Adam) Pieronski, both of Sturgis; three nephews, Adam Bontrager of Sturgis, and Jacob Shoup and Evan Shoup, both of Galesburg; three great-nieces, Cleoy Schmucker, Kryssalyn Schmucker and McKenzie Pieronski; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lawrence and Dorothy Holtz, and Albert and Letha Shultz. The family will receive friends from 5-6:45 p.m. Monday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, where a memorial service celebrating the life of Scott W. Shultz will begin at 7 p.m. The Rev. Deb Johnson of the First United Methodist Church of Sturgis will officiate. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will follow the service. Private burial of the ashes will take place  at a later date at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis. The family suggests those wishing to make a memorial donation in Scott’s memory consider Pet Haven, P.O. Sharon Kay Stetten, age 71, of Adrian Township, formerly of Manitou Beach, passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2010, at her home. She was born on Feb. 27, 1939, in Addison to Kenneth F. and Nora R. Campbell (Ebbert) Campbell. She married Gary L. Stetten on June 27, 2008, in Adrian and he survives. Sharon lived in the Addison, Brooklyn and Manitou Beach areas all her life and the past two years in Adrian Township. She graduated from Addison High School in 1957. She was employed at Roto Plastics in Adrian. Sharon loved RVing, mushroom hunting and babysitting her great-grandchildren.  Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, Deanna (Bill) Barker of Culleoka, Tenn., and Melody (Mark) Reilly of Manitou Beach; four sons, Byron (Brenda) Youtsey of Manitou Beach, Patrick Youtsey of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., Gregory Stetten of Hillsdale and Mr. and Mrs. Eric Stetten of Lansing; two stepdaughters, Deena (John) Schultz of Hillsdale and Lisa (Kenneth) Toman of Onsted; one step-son, Henry (Deb) McNett of Kentucky; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one brother, Michael Campbell of Holland; one sister-in-law, Ellen Campbell of Ypsilanti; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 5, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Addison. Thomas was employed at Tenneco in Litchfield. He enjoyed bowling and golf, and was an avid University of Michigan sports fan. Besides his father, Arnold L. Goff and his mother, Laurie (Randy Wilson) Meade of Litchfield, he is survived by two sons, Pacey Goff of Hillsdale and Landon Goff of Coldwater; a brother, Kevin (Sunda) Goff of Litchfield; an uncle, Kevin Powers of Waldron; a niece, Chloe, and two nephews, Ethan and Logan. Funeral services for Thomas D. Goff will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Pastor Craig Pahl officiating. Umberto Tanzini Umberto Tanzini, age 83, of New Knoxville, Ohio, died Friday, March 12, 2010 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in Saint Marys, Ohio. He was born March 27, 1926 in Highland Park, Mich., the son of Umberto and Eliza (Catton) Tanzini. On February 6, 1960, he and the former Roberta Fledderjohann were married in Detroit, Mich., at Salem Lutheran Church. They observed their Golden Wedding Anniversary on February 6, 2010. Umberto is also survived by his two children, Nino (JoLynn) Tanzini of Shelby Township, Mich. and Julianna (William) Weimer of Shelby Township, Mich.; brothers, Nino and Mario Tanzini; sisters, Lucy Sapienza and Patricia Todd; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Albert Tanzini; his parents, two brothers; and three sisters. Funeral Rites were held Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville, the Rev. David Williams, officiant. Burial followed at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery. Vianna Rickard, age 97, of Ann Arbor passed away April 1, 2010, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility in Adrian, Mich.  She was born on Aug. 23, 1912, in Marquette, Mich., the daughter of Oscar and Anna Riihimaki Storstrang. She married William Garnet Rickard on Nov. 29, 1934, in Big Rapids, Mich. He preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 1978.  Vianna was educated at John D. Pierce High School in Marquette, Mich., and attended Ferris Institute for one year for secretarial studies. When Vianna was a young adult, she worked in the Marquette County Treasurers Office. She later worked as a secretary in Big Rapids, Mich. The family moved to the Ann Arbor area in 1942, where the family was raised. She later worked at Buhr Machine Tool Co. She then went to work at the U of M at the Kresge Foundation, where she remained until retirement in 1976.  Vianna was an active member of West Side United Methodist Church and the Dorcas Circle, Arbor Anns, Order of the Eastern Star, and The Kings Daughters. She was fortunate to have traveled to many countries of the world.  Vianna is survived by a son, Wayne Ronald Rickard (Kathryn), and a daughter, Nancy Carole Keller; six grandchildren, Wayne, Scott, Anne, Jeffrey, Brian, and Corey; and five great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her sister Elsie Lauri and son-in-law John Keller.  Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Muehlig Funeral Chapel, 403 S. Fourth Ave., Ann Arbor, Mich. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Memorial donations in Vianna’s name may be made to West Side United Methodist Church, Ann Arbor, Mich., or Lenawee Medical Care Facility (Canterbury Activity Fund), Adrian, Mich.

Wannetta M. Yockey, 83, of Bronson, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, April 2, 2010, at Drews Place of Coldwater. The service will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Bronson First Baptist Church with Pastor John Fields officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM at Flint Cemetery in Flint, Ind. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Bronson. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher-Kolcz Funeral Home in Bronson. Wannetta was born April 4, 1926 in Salem Twp., Steuben County, Ind. to Alva and Bertha (Harvey) Stumpf. She married Francis W. Yockey on April 4, 1945 in Angola, Ind. He preceded her in death Jan. 9, 2009. Mrs. Yockey worked for Midwest Tool & Cutlery Co. in Sturgis for 30 years, retiring in 1982. She graduated from Flint High School in Indiana, coming to the Branch County area in 1961 and attended the Bronson First Baptist Church for many years. Wannetta enjoyed playing the piano and singing. She was a devoted, loving and faithful wife who always took great care of her family and husband, especially in his final days of life. Wannetta is survived by her sister Ruth Blanchard of LaGrange, Ind., her sister-in-law Lucille Kirkpatrick of Ind., and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Marjorie Arnold and Catherine Whitten. Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church in Bronson.
