He was born on August 12, 1928 in Sheridan, Michigan to Theodore Case Sr. and Pearl (Buxton) Case. Burgess graduated from Barryton High School in 1946 and later attended Ferris College in Big Rapids. Even though Burgess had complications he was determined to have an education and live a full life. He was a bookkeeper for many years and later in life he was a certified watchmaker and horalogist.

Carol June Haller, age 87, a lifetime resident of  Sturgis, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2010, at Skaggs Assisted Living Center in Burr Oak. She was born Oct. 1, 1922, in Sturgis, a daughter of the late Clifford and Mary (Slingerland) Sheeler. On July 11, 1943, in the first military wedding of World War II in Sturgis, she married Arlon W. (Chub) Haller.  He preceded her in death Jan. 31, 2000. Carol graduated from Sturgis High School with the class of 1941 and retired from  Sturgis Newport Business Forms where she worked for many years.  She enjoyed playing Euchre, dancing in her younger years, going for drives and out to eat, and spending time with her family. Surviving are three sons, Doug (Linda) Haller of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Steve Haller of Sturgis, and Scott (Kim) Haller of Sturgis; eight grandchildren, Brett (Donna) Haller, Todd (Kelli) Haller, Ron (Carri) Haller, all of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Justin (Gretchen) Haller of Allegan, Mich., Kayla Haller and Ryne Haller, both of Elkhart, Ind., Jessica Haller and Jacob Haller, both of Sturgis; seven sreat-grandchildren, Mallory, Alicia, Courtney, Kaylee, Brayden, and Austin,  all of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Logan of Allegan; two sisters-in-law, Eleanor Sheeler of Kalamazoo and Enid Haller of Avilla, Ind., and many nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Marian Lehman; and brother, C. Keith Sheeler. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place.  The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hackman Family Funeral Home - Rosenberg Chapel, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091 (269) 651-3284. Charles Austin Brighton, age 77, of Brooklyn passed away on June 20, 2010. He was born on Sept. 28, 1932, on the Brighton Family Farm in the Irish Hills, the son of Leland and Neva (Austin) Brighton. On May 7, 1965, Charles married Janet (Duncan) Brighton in Wyandotte, Mich., and she survives. Mr. Brighton lived and worked on the family farm his whole life. He was a dairy farmer for many years but changed to crop farming later in life. He served his country on the construction battalion for the Navy Reserve, was on the Cambridge Township Planning Commission, served many years on the Michigan Milk Producers Association board, was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph’s Shrine where he was an alter server. Charles was always the kind of man who was willing to help out a neighbor or friend. He will be fondly remembered as the kindest and gentlest man who loved his family, animals (especially his dogs), his land and farm and for his great love of life. In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by his children, Gordon (Pam) Brighton of Adrian, Kathleen Clare of Monroe, Laura Mullins of Portland, Joyce (Jeff) Brighton-Willaert of Clark Lake and Margaret (Sam) Lafata of Onsted; sister, Joyce Moynihan of Warren, and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. In honor of  Mr. Brighton, memorial donations may be given to a charity of the donor's choice. Daniel James Barfield, 23, of Sturgis, died Thursday evening, June 17, 2010, in Howe, Ind., due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born Aug. 29, 1986 in Sturgis, a son of James and Vickie (Hackett) Barfield. Daniel had resided in Sturgis his entire life and graduated from Sturgis High School with the class of 2005. He had been employed by Burr Oak Tool and Gauge in Sturgis since 2004. He enjoyed shooting at the St. Joseph County Conservation Club, bowling, scuba diving, fishing, golfing, tinkering with motorcycles and playing video games. He actively participated in paintball and Airsoft. Daniel truly loved time spent with his many friends and family. He is survived by his parents; two sisters, Kalyn (Justin) Day of LaGrange, Ind., and Mckenna Barfield of Sturgis; a grandmother, Retha Lancaster of Burr Oak; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clifford Hackett, James Richard Barfield and Jean Clark Barfield. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis. She was born July 3, 1937 in Hudson, the daughter of Christopher and Anne Cathern (Walters) Mazzola. She graduated from Hudson High School in 1955, and had been employed at United Technologies in Coldwater. Donna enjoyed genealogy and spending time with her grandchildren. She especially loved attending their sporting events. Survivors include her husband, Frank Dules, whom she married Feb. 11, 1960; two daughters Lisa (Mike) Brewer of Quincy and Kristina (Lawrence) Harrison of Canadian Lakes; two sons Kevin (Marcy) Dules of Bronson and Eric (Cheryl) Dules of Quincy; and six grandchildren. Her parents and her step-father, Linden Rhoades, preceded her in death. There will be no visitation. Private interment in Lakeview Cemetery will be at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Branch County Food Pantry. Arrangements are being handled by the George White Funeral Home, Quincy.

Esther was born on March 29, 1927 in Maple Rapids, MI the daughter of Ernest and Blanche (Curtis) Moore. She attended St. Johns High School and had worked at Clinton Care Center, St. Johns Public Schools and was a member of First United Methodist Church. On October 15, 1944 she married Roland Ritter. He died in 1981. On May 14, 1983 she married Clifford C. Carey in St. Johns. He died January 4, 2009. She is survived by children, Daniel and Linda Ritter, Les and Rose, Brian and Linda K. and Suanne and Jeff Spicer, all of St. Johns; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; step children, Patricia Ann and Don Stocker of Charlotte, Clifford and Cathy Carey Jr. of Petoskey and Sharon A. and Doug Hildren of Lansing. Her brother Ken Moore preceded her in death as did infant daughter, Susan. Funeral services will be held at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, 989-224-4422 on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. On Oct. 15, 1938, Fay married Bernie O.K. Morton in Napoleon, Ohio. During World War II, Fay worked for Stubnitz-Greene and also Gerity. She was a devoted mother who also took care of many nieces and nephews. Previously, Fay attended Hudson Faith Assembly of God Church. She was currently attending Adrian First Church of the Brethren. Fay is survived by her children, Carolyn (Wynn) Hescock of Chiliquin, Ore.; Jack (Sharon) Morton of Granite City, Ill.; Bernie (Marianne) Morton of Loudon, Tenn.; John (Shirley) Morton of Adrian, Cecil (Annette) Morton of Granite City, Ill.; Brenda Morton of Columbia, Tenn.; Rev. David (Cindy) Morton of Manitou Beach and Debbie (Vern) Freymuth of Maryville, Tenn.; 19 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Lois Marvin of Adrian, Lola Wooster of Florida and Barbara Greene of Kentucky. In addition to her husband, Fay was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Cox and Thelma Harwick; three brothers, Marvin, Howard and Aldun Pifer; and a great-grandson, Travis Morton. James Charles Totten Pierport, MI (Bear Lake) Passed away, Sunday morning, February 21, 2010 in McAllen, Texas. Jim was born April 7, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated high school from Cass Tech, attended Wayne State University, graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. in Advertising (1952 and a M.A. in Journalism (1961). On May 24, 1952, he married Marilyn Lou Hesselink of Wyoming, Michigan. Jim joined the M.S.U. staff in 1956 as Assistant News Editor for The Continuing Education Service. For 20 of 33 year career he carried the title of managing editor of athletic publications and who handled sports publication production at M.S.U. He has shared in the receipt by Michigan State of 41 national publication awards from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), including 14 judged "best in the nation". In addition to the football game programs, Totten had helped produce Spartan media guides for all M.S.U. sports, game programs for hockey and men's basketball, athletic recruiting books, individual sports schedule cards, and championship and special event programs. Jim also won the 1988-89 M.S.U. hockey media guide, voted "No. 1 in the nation" by CoSIDA. That same year the football program and the Jenison Field House farewell book also received awards. Jim brought great sports knowledge and interest to his role. As a Spartan undergraduate, he competed in frosh baseball, basketball and boxing, as well as in intramural sports. Following a military stint at The Infantry School, Ft. Benning, GA. and as a platoon leader and information officer with the Army's 25th Infantry Division in Korea where he was editor of the "25th" Infantry Division, The Tropic Lightning" For many years, Jim was a timer for M.S.U. indoor and outdoor track meets. He did statistical work at the U.S. Pan America Games wrestling trials at M.S.U. in 1959, and he was a statistician in the Spartan football and basketball press. boxes for a number of years. The highlight of his service to amateur athletics was working as an editorial supervisor in press operations at the 1984 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles. He also worked as a press officer at the U.S. Olympic Festival in Oklahoma City, Okla. Over the years, he's written a number of features for the football programs, including a favorite, "The Complete Tailgate". He also has chaired and spoken at a number of CoSida annual workshop sessions on sports publications. Jim retired from M.S.U. in 1990. Jim and his wife Lynn (Marilyn), enjoyed traveling through Europe, the U.S.A., Canada and Mexico. They both loved the fine arts, jazz music. Jim loved living in East Lansing, then later, Pierport (Bear Lake) on Lake Michigan where he and Lynn retired. They also their loved their winter home at "The Tip of Texas" resort in McAllen, Texas, where tennis "was their Game". Jim also loved animals, birds and nature in general, especially a Wired Haired Terrier named "Meggie". He served on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Loon Preservation Assn. He is survived by his wife, Lynn, his three children; Kathleen, Jennifer, Jeffrey, daughter-in-law Phyllis and granddaughter, Fielding, departed brother Ralph P. Totten and family. Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday June 27, 2010 at Lake Bluff Bird Sanctuary, 2010 Lake Shore Rd., Manistee, Michigan. 231 723-4042. John D. Williams Sr., 93, of Yale, formerly of Mancelona, died on June 19, 2010, at Medilodge of Yale. John was the youngest of 13 children born to John and Laura (Thomas) Williams on July 21, 1916. John was born on Cedar River Road in Mancelona and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Engineering Corps in Germany. He was a journeyman tool and die maker, retiring from Dura Corporation of Adrian in 1980. Following retirement, he returned to his beloved Green River Schoolhouse in 1980 where he went to school as a young boy. He was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Adrian as well as St. Anthony Catholic Church in Mancelona. On March 3, 1940, John married Anna Kraemer of East Jordan. Anna preceded him in death on Nov. 3, 2008. Also preceding him in death were a son, Mark Williams, and his parents. John and Anna raised their 11 children in the house they built on Siena Heights Drive in Adrian. Surviving are 10 children, Rae Doppler of Centerpoint, Texas; Kaye (John) Afonica of Ida, Carol (Darrell) Melton of West Jefferson, N.C.; Marcia Gaines of Traverse City, Nancy Wilder of Traverse City, John Williams Jr. of Ann Arbor, David Williams of Fenton, Ann (John) Uhring of Applegate, Matt (Kris) Williams of Tecumseh and Jeff (Karen) Williams of Westland. Also surviving are a sister, Esther Tannehill of Mancelona; 20 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Dr. John Henry Pudliner Dr. John Henry Pudliner, 85, went to be with the Lord on June 22, 2010. Services will be held Friday, June 25, 2010, at 2:30 p.m. at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, GA. He was preceded in his passing by his mother and father, Mary and John Pudliner, and his wife Margery. Dr. Pudliner was a true humanitarian, helping those in need and impacting people's lives whenever and wherever possible. He was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania on December 9, 1925. He attended Johnstown High School and served our country during World War II as a medic in the Army and later as an interpreter between the Germans and Americans in Hanover, Germany. Returning home from the service he furthered his education; graduating from Thiel College in Greenville, PA earning a degree in Chemistry. He graduated from Des Moines Osteopathic Medical School in Iowa. John and his wife Margery settled down in Lansing, Michigan where they began a family and he started his General Practice. Dr. Pudliner is one of the founding fathers of Lansing General Hospital and "Father of Sports Medicine in Lansing." No matter what the circumstance, he was always on the field or court ensuring the athletes got the best care possible. His love for life and helping others carried him through a successful 48 years of practicing medicine. After retiring from his practice he and Margery settled down in Macon, Georgia, where he continued to impact people's lives on a daily basis until his final days. He is survived by his brother. Kay Ann (Carroll) Hand, 64, of Midland died Saturday morning, June 19, 2010, at the MidMic­higan Medical Center. Kay was born Aug. 28, 1945, in Toledo, Ohio, daughter of the late Marvin and Luella (Ford) Carroll. On Feb. 16, 1983, she married James H. Hand. Kay had been an administrative assistant at the University of Michigan Department of Metallurgical Engineering where she met her husband Jim. An avid fan of baseball, Kay enjoyed the Great Lakes Loons, Detroit Tigers and was a Wolverine fan always. The most important thing to Kay was her family. She enjoyed spending time with and following the Tittabawassee Valley Fife and Drum Corps as music was a large part of her life, as was her involvement in the Red Hat Society. In addition to her husband, James, Kay is survived by her son, Dennis (Jennifer) Hand of Midland; her brothers, Donald (Kris) Carroll of Xenia, Ohio, Larry (Patricia) Carroll of Shelby Township and Robert Carroll of Davenport, Iowa. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Daniel and Leah Carroll, Andrew and Valerie Avantigiato, Karen and Michelle Razzetti, Nicholas, Stephanie, Robert, Kevin and Michael Hand; and her special friends, Flossie Justice, Justin Justice, Becky Fox, Marion and Linda McGee, and Lucille Bicknell. Funeral services for Kay will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday morning, June 23, from the Midland Mennonite Church, 2510 E. Stewart Road, with Pastor Don Duford officiating. Interment will follow in Midland Cemetery. Kay’s family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 W. Maynard Marchand, age 83, of Sturgis, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at Sturgis Hospital following a short illness. He was born Nov. 16, 1926, in LaGrange, Ind., a son of the late Charley and Retha (Fleck) Marchand. On July 14, 1947, he married Martha Della Miller in Angola, Ind. She preceded him in death June 29, 1996. Maynard had been a resident of Sturgis most of his life, living his earlier years in LaGrange. He had been employed by the Harter Corporation in Sturgis for 46 years before retiring and enjoyed fishing. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World WarII. Surviving are two sons, Michael (Diane) Marchand of Sturgis and Robert (Larisa) Marchand of Sterling Heights; a daughter, Pamela (Bud) Conley of Finley; five grandchildren, Kenneth, Casey, Shaun, Michael and Marc Marchand; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; five brothers; and three sisters. The family will receive friends and relatives from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Hackman Family Funeral Home Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis. Services celebrating the life of Maynard Marchand will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. George Cleverley officiating. He graduated from Addison High School Class of 1945, served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and enjoyed woodworking. Surviving Don besides his wife, Esther, are one daughter, Kay (Tom) Sharp of Pittsford; one son, David Ost of Pioneer, Ohio; four grandchildren, Michelle (Bruce) Sharp of Hillsdale, Jennifer (Louie) Lamoth of Mosherville, Jason Sharp of Pittsford and Brian and (Danielle) Sharp of Ransom; four great-great-grandchildren, Kimberly, Wyatt, Carter and Ellie. Jack L. Barker April 5, 1937 — June 16, 2010 Jack Lloyd Barker, 73, an attorney in Hillsdale, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, in Kalamazoo, from complications due to a stroke. Jack was born on April 5, 1937, in Compton, Ky, the son of Averile (Horton) Barker and William Harold Barker. He was married on March 23, 1963 to CarolAnn Coppler. She preceded him in death. Jack graduated in 1954 from Colon High School in Colon. He served in the U.S. Army, from 1959 to 1961 and entered Hillsdale College in the fall of 1961. He met his wife CarolAnn while at Hillsdale College (Class of 1963) and graduated in 1965. He attended the Law School of Wayne State University, and was a graduate of the class of 1971. After graduating from Hillsdale College, Jack worked at Ford Motor from 1965 until 1968, when he entered law school. Upon graduation from law school in 1971 he worked as head of the Trust Department for Manufacturer’s Bank in Detroit until he and CarolAnn moved to Hillsdale in 1973. He went into law practice with Emil Fry and became a very active member of the Hillsdale community. Jack had planned to retire from the practice of law, and tried his last case on Wednesday, June 9, 2010. Jack was a member of the Rotary Club, the Elks Club, Hillsdale Golf & Country Club, the Michigan Bar Association and Hillsdale County Bar Association. He was a board member of the Hillsdale Community Health Center and a member of the Hillsdale County Chamber of Commerce. He was a former member of the Hillsdale City Council. A very avid golfer, Jack took numerous golf trips every year with his friends. Jack was a huge booster and supporter of his alma mater, Hillsdale College. He was a member of the Hillsdale College Alumni Board for over 25 years; received the Alumni Board Recognition award in 1997; was the recipient of the Charger Club Award in 1975 and was a member of the Hillsdale College President’s Club. Jack is survived by his daughter, Shawn-Laree de St. Aubin of Chicago, Ill.; four brothers, Adrian (Helen) of Hoyt Lakes, Minn.; Raymond Gerald (Ruth) of Winter Haven, Fla.; Richard (Dorothy) of Titusville, Fla,; and Bill (Ann) of Kodiak, Alaska, and his companion, Carol Ringenberg. Memorial services for Jack Barker will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the George Roche Sports Center, Hillsdale College. The family will receive friends for visitation from 5-8:30 p.m. Monday at VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale. He was born March 27, 1925, in Spring Arbor to LaVerne and La Vada (Grover) Cook. He was married Oct. 25, 1947 to Mattie Applegate and she preceded him in death Oct. 18, 2007. Vernon was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. He retired in 1987 from Hillsdale Tool and was a former Captain of the Hillsdale Police Auxiliary. Surviving are four daughters, Nancy (Wayne) Hutchins, Susan (Jeffrey) Kuhn, Tonya Cook, and Anne (Doug) Cook Preston all of Hillsdale; a son, V. Michael (Marcia) Cook of Rockford; two sisters, Florence Strong of Hillsdale and Elma Zimmerman of Arizona; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Besides his wife Mattie, Vernon was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Tom; five sisters, Mary Eichler, Mabel Munsel, Margaret Butcher, Dorothy Smith and Inez Skalniak and a grandson, Sean Hutchins. Norman Theodore Drumm, 82, of Coldwater and lifelong resident of Branch County, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2010, at home. He was born Nov. 11, 1927 in Concord to Clarence and Helen (Winchell) Drumm and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952 – 1954. Norman was a farmer for most of his life and also worked at Maple Villa Farms in Quincy for 30 years, retiring in 1990. He was a past member of the Merry Mixers Square Dance Club, an avid fisherman, and loved the outdoors. On April 17, 1955, he married Carol Elaine Wonders and she preceded him in death in 1997. Also surviving are his children, Margaret (Mike) Michael of Montgomery, Larry (Ann) Drumm of Quincy, Susan (Mike) Martin of Quincy and Norman (Shelby) Drumm of Calera, Ala.; sisters, Stella (Fred) Trujello of Hillsdale, Ruth Harris of Tampa, Fla. and Clara Keck of Litchfield; brothers, Robert (Marge) Drumm of Detour, Willard “Bill” (Robin) Drumm of Battle Creek and Lenard (Mary) Drumm of Huntington, Ind.; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother (Kenneth); two sisters, (Mildred and Joyce). Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the George White Funeral Home, Quincy, with the Rev. Clyde Wonders officiating. Interment will follow in Lester Cemetery, Algansee Township. Olive Dorthea Gushwa, age 91, of Sturgis, passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at Thurston Woods Village. She was born in Three Rivers, on July 31, 1918, a daughter of the late Edward Hugh and Elmira (Parsons) Baker. Olive had been a resident of Sturgis and the Three Rivers area all of her life. She graduated from Three Rivers High School with the class of 1936 and was a good athlete excelling in all sports. On March 4, 1942, in Bryon, Ohio, she married Fredric L. Gushwa. He preceded her in death on April 22, 1968. She was a homemaker and a beautician working at Cramer’s Beauty Shop in Three Rivers. She then worked and retired from the Kirsch Company in Sturgis after many years of service. Olive was a member of the Lima United Methodist Church, Mintdale Women’s Club, and enjoyed being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with her family. Surviving are two sons, James (Kristine) Gushwa of Jones, and Gary (Gail) Gushwa of Sturgis; six grandchildren, Fred Gushwa of Sturgis, Heidi Sorkoram of Kalamazoo, Karen Marie (David) Yearick of Raleigh, N.C., David Gushwa, Stacie (Cary) Cookson, and Steven (Holly) Gushwa all of Sturgis; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Ruth Schug and Arlene Nole; and two daughters-in-law, Mary Gushwa and Janet Gushwa. The family will receive friends and relatives from 2–4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.  Friday at the Hackman Family Funeral Home Rosenberg Chapel, 807 E. Chicago Road, Sturgis. A service celebrating the life of Olive Dorthea Gushwa will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lima United Methodist Church, which is on corner of 700 N-450 W, Howe, Ind., with Pastor Jeff Stedge officiating. She had previously worked at the Drake Casket Company. Pat enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casinos to play the slot machines. Pat also loved to travel, especially vacationing at Drummond Island.  Pat  liked flower gardening, fishing, cooking and crochet. She was a member of the “Gutter Strutters” bowling team. Surviving Pat are her husband, David Knisely of Constantine; daughter, Kimberly (Tim) Hesketh of Middlebury, Ind.; sons, Keith (Jane) Knisely of Union, and Bill (Susan) Knisely of Niles; eight grandchildren Christopher, Jonathon, Caty, Andy, David, and Tyler Knisely, Ashley Cooper  and Bailey Lang; and sister-in-law Janet (Bernie) Heign, Constantine.  She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Shirley Bonebright. He is survived by two brothers, Adolph (Mary) Winkelman and Maurice Winkelman, both of Blissfield; three nephews, Adolph (Diane) Winkelman, Steve (Roggie) Winkelman and Jim Winkelman, all of Blissfield; and two nieces, Marlene (John) Waldvogel of Ottawa Lake and Kathy (Mike) Gower of Adrian. Theresa M. Tate, 90, of Coldwater, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2010, at the Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Coldwater with Rev. Fr. Richard Fritz officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 from 4-8 p.m. with the Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.   Theresa was born in Philadelphia, on Dec. 24, 1919, to Andrew Joseph and Catherine Marie (Onorato) Riviello. She graduated from Kensington High School and Banks Business School, both in Philadelphia. Theresa married Martin Joseph Tate, Sr. on April 27, 1946 in Philadelphia. He preceded her in death on July 3, 1987. She had worked for Michigan Gas Utilities in customer service for many years, retiring in 1984. Theresa was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, where she supported many special projects within the church and was a side door greeter for Saturday night mass. After retirement from Michigan Gas, Theresa volunteered for the Maple Lawn Auxiliary, the Food Pantry, Hoff’s Vegetable Market, the Young at Heart Group and the Coldwater Area Senior Citizens. Theresa is survived by three sons, Martin (Debbie) Tate, Jr. of Coldwater, Charles (Leslie) Tate of Bridgman and Andrew (Gloria) Tate of Sturgis, seven grandchildren, seven great-granddaughters and a brother, Thomas Riviello, of Philadelphia. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gabriel and sister Domonica. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Virgil (Helen) Eisenmann, Helen Gallardo, Milford Kindley and Val (Nellie) Mirelez, and an aunt in infancy, Michelle Eisenmann. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Titus Mirelez will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2010, at 2 p.m. at the Zion United Brethren Church in Ogden with the Rev. Aden Porter officiating. Wanda Marie Clark, age 78, of Jasper passed away Monday, June 21, 2010, at her home with her family by her side. She was born May 13, 1932, in Adrian, to Ralph Benjamin and Florence (Hawes) Benschoter. On Aug. 3, 1956, she married Brian Clark in Adrian, and he survives. Wanda attended the Ogden Church. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time with them and her friends. She enjoyed crafts, sewing and making quilts. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons, James (Wilma) Findley of Warren, Mich., Jerry (Rose) Findley of Houston, Texas, Bryan (Brenda) Clark of Adrian and Robert Clark of Kansas City, Mo.; two daughters, Stacy (Benjamin) Moran of Jasper and Robin Clark of Hudson; three brothers, Ralph (Marilyn) Benschoter of Porter, Texas, Melvin (Joyce) Benschoter of Adrian and Rodney (Kris) Benschoter of Onsted; three sisters, Merl Jean Allion of Jasper, Kathryn Spencley of Jasper and Audry (Tom) Tracy of Adrian; 17 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Findley; and one sister, Mildred Horner. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian. Funeral services for Wanda will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2010, at 4 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral home, Adrian, with the Rev. Lloyd Jewett officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
