Edwardo (Ed) Vincente Cavasos

Wednesday, July 7, 2010 10:13 AM - GateHouse Media, Inc.

Our beloved Ed passed away in his home the afternoon of July 2, 2010, his dog Lupita at his side. May he finally rest in peace knowing he can watch over all of whom he loved so much. Born and raised in Adrian, Ed attended Adrian College and lived and thrived in this community for several years. He then moved to Virginia, where he lived for 9 years while never losing his devotion to his only child — Ashley Morgan Cavasos-Franck — his family, friends, and of course we can’t forget his passion for the University of Michigan football team. Ed was known to all as “A Jack of all Trades.” Whether it was carpentry, sewing, cooking, drawing, coaching, nursing, being a Jedi Knight, a cuddly Eddie Bear or just doing crafts with all his nieces and nephews, anytime spent with their Uncle Ed was surely going to be a great adventure. He will forever be remembered for his outgoing personality, wit and charm, which won the hearts of many who were fortunate to cross paths with him. He brought laughter, light and clarity to several people in his life. His generosity knew no boundaries and he will be missed terribly by  his family and friends. Ed was preceded in death by his father, Abel Cavasos Sr.; mother, Consuelo Cavasos; and brother David Cavasos. Also left behind are his wife, Tina Cavasos; daughter, Ashley M. Cavasos-Franck and her husband, Josh Franck; and grandson, Sebastian Gilbert Franck — the light of Ed’s life. Brothers Abel Jr., Albert, and Enrigue along with sisters Geneva Cantu (brother-in-law Luis Cantu), Kristina Maria and Corrinna Consuelo (brother-in-law Shane Gintack) also survive. Ed has chosen cremation and the family is honoring his wishes and having a party for him from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, July 9, at the Steele Carriage House behind the Croswell Opera House in Adrian. Memorial contributions and floral arrangements may be sent to Ashley Cavasos-Franck, 4594 Ogden Hwy., Adrian, MI. Condolences to the family may be sent to the families homestead at 1825 W. Valley Road, Adrian, MI. GO BLUE!
