Barbara Jo "Barbie" Watson

Barbara Jo "Barbie" Watson" Union City Barbara Jo "Barbie" Watson, 45, of Union City, passed away November 9, 2010, at home surrounded by her family. She was a beautiful person inside and out who loved her life and all of the people in it. Barbie was truly an amazing daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend. She was born August 22, 1965 in Coldwater to John and Linda (Robinson) Brubaker and later married Ronnie Watson on September 27, 1986 in Battle Creek. Barbie enjoyed living in the Union City area all of her life. She was naturally giving and had many close friends. She loved her various critters and enjoyed flowers and landscaping. She was a hairdresser, receptionist at Weight Watchers and a sales person at JCPenney but above all a dedicated wife and mother. Barbie was a beautiful, eye-catching and fashionable woman who always seemed to be the life of the party. In fact, she loved any excuse to bring people together. She planned many family reunions, volleyball cook-outs, cookie parties and always had the best party favors in town. She is survived by her husband, Ron; daughter, Jacee (Brandon) Beck; son, Jory Watson; daughter, Jamison Watson; parents, John and Linda Brubaker; sisters, Robin (Randy) Jones, Debbie (Gene) Morisset, JoLynn Brubaker; brother, Johnny (Amy) Brubaker; brother-in-law, Curt (Sheryl) Watson; sisters-in-law, Lisa (Tim) Dey, Nicki (Ed) Phelps, Pam (Dan) Rathbun; mother-in-law, Carol Watson; stepmother-in-law, Fran Stringer; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Clarey Rita Mae July 22, 1926 - October 1, 2010. Rita's spirit has risen to heaven to meet her God, her husband and eldest son who preceded her in death. Soon she will be a part of a very special and long awaited McCrady Reunion with her parents and 10 brothers and sisters. Her death will bring to close a generation whose memories we will all cherish. Her last days were spent in the peace and comfort of her home in Sparks, Nevada with her daughter Peggy Clarey and son-in-law, Fred Conner. Rita was born at the farm on Pumping Station Road. Fairfield County, Ohio. She grew up in Sugar Grove, Ohio, attended and graduated from Berne Union School in Sugar Grove, Ohio. Rita was the youngest child born to Charles and Rosemary (Shonebarger) McCrady. Rita was married to Wilbert A. Clarey for 56 years before his death in 2006. At that time she moved to Nevada to live with her only daughter. She had four children: Daniel (Linda), Peggy (Fred), Bruce (Alise), and Andrew (Laura). She had six male grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was a Nurses Aid at Garden City Osteopathic Hospital for over 20 Years. G.C.O.H. is located less that one block from the family Home on Cardwell Street, Garden City, Michigan. Her interests included playing cards, bingo, casino gambling and creating Jewelry Pictures. With "Web", she became an active and enthusiastic member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, starting in the mid 50's at Johnsons Post #78, on Joy Road in Detroit, Michigan, and ending her service at Battle Born Post #9211 on VFW Historic Lane in Reno, Nevada. She was anointed by Father Norman King from the Immaculate Conception Church. Her remains will be at the Glen Eden Memorial Park, Livonia, Michigan. Instead of flowers or gifts, remembrances can be PAID FORWARD.

Howrani Ameen Age 69, passed away on October 2, 2010. Beloved husband of Arlene for 30 years. Loving father to Ara Howrani and Ana (Joel) Howrani Heeres. Survivors include brothers Faris (Carlene) Howrani, John (Terri) Howrani, and sister Mary Catherine (Duane) Ashley, as well as brother-in-law Kenneth Yagoobian. He was predeceased by his parents Catherine and Adeeb Howrani. Also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Ameen will be remembered for changing the look of photography by capturing the powerful faces of everyday people in a compelling way. He will also be remembered for his charisma and the way he touched people on a personal level. At the time of his death, Ameen was working on a book, a 40-year retrospective of his photography in Detroit. A memorial for Ameen will be held on Friday, October 8, 5-9 p.m. at his studio. She was born March 7, 1920 in Albion, Michigan to Joseph and Josephine (Maniaci) Bommarito. On January 25, 1947 she was married to Reuben G. Pesonen in Albion and he preceded her in death January 27, 1995. She has been a resident of the area all of her life. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Albion. She was a Homemaker. Lena was a self-described shy person that somehow was always the center of attention. She lived for her family, friends, and chances to spend time with them. Her passions included family, cooking, gardening, children, and, above all, always having fun. Anyone that met her even for the briefest time learned something about life, love, and how to enjoy each day. Always energetic, she could be zany, nutty, funny, but will always be loved. Her family is saddened by her passing, but was blessed by having her in their lives. She is survived by 2 daughters, Ann (Keith) VanSchoick and Josephine Miller both of Albion; 3 grandchildren, Chris (Angie) VanSchoick of Saline, Susan (Scott) Godair of Jackson, and Laura (Mike) Bonney of Fairview Hgts., IL; 1 sister, Josephine Cusumano of Canton, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers, James, Clement, Stephen, and Jesse Bommarito; and 2 sisters, Rose Weeks and Rosalie Serra. Margaret (Massa) Berridge Battle Creek Margaret (Massa) Berridge age 63, of Battle Creek, died Wednesday, November 10, surrounded by her family. She fought a courageous battle with lung cancer over the past three years. Margaret was a lifelong resident of Battle Creek, Michigan. She attended Lakeview Schools graduating from Lakeview High in 1965. Her class was the first to attend all four years at the then "new high school". After high school graduation she attended Wright Beauty Academy and then worked at various Ferrari Beauty Salons from 1966 to 1975. In 1985 she began working at Willard Public Library and continued there for 23 years until her retirement. Throughout the years Margaret was involved in the Beta Sigma Phi sorority, various bowling leagues, Girl Scout leader and Boy Scout Den mother. She volunteered as a room mother at Valley View Elementary School in Springfield and was a Harper Creek Swim booster parent. Margaret's "pride and joy" were her twins, Ryan and Laura. She enjoyed doing things with and for her family. She dedicated her life to being the "best mom" possible. As Laura and Ryan grew up and now have families of their own she enjoyed her role of grandma. To her, family always came first. Margaret's loving family include her son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Heidi Berridge, granddaughter, Lena, of Grass Lake, Michigan; her daughter and son in-law, Laura (Berridge) and Mark DeLong, grandchildren, Kara and Drew of Scituate, MA; her sister, Lois (Massa) Shepard of Phoenix, AZ; and MANY aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Betty Massa. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. this evening. Rob graduated from Oakland University and then the National College of Chiropractic in Illinois. He worked first as an associate of George Goodheart, founder of Applied Kinesiology and later practiced privately in Birmingham for 25 years. His ability to reach bodies, hearts and minds was legendary. Rob was gifted at articulating the pilgrimage towards consciousness. Rob was the enthusiastic president of Kirkwood Lake Association for 20 years. Rob loved to fish with his brothers and friends on the beautiful Michigan waterways.
