Clarey Rita Mae July 22, 1926 - October 1, 2010. Rita's spirit has risen to heaven to meet her God, her husband and eldest son who preceded her in death. Soon she will be a part of a very special and long awaited McCrady Reunion with her parents and 10 brothers and sisters. Her death will bring to close a generation whose memories we will all cherish. Her last days were spent in the peace and comfort of her home in Sparks, Nevada with her daughter Peggy Clarey and son-in-law, Fred Conner. Rita was born at the farm on Pumping Station Road. Fairfield County, Ohio. She grew up in Sugar Grove, Ohio, attended and graduated from Berne Union School in Sugar Grove, Ohio. Rita was the youngest child born to Charles and Rosemary (Shonebarger) McCrady. Rita was married to Wilbert A. Clarey for 56 years before his death in 2006. At that time she moved to Nevada to live with her only daughter. She had four children: Daniel (Linda), Peggy (Fred), Bruce (Alise), and Andrew (Laura). She had six male grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was a Nurses Aid at Garden City Osteopathic Hospital for over 20 Years. G.C.O.H. is located less that one block from the family Home on Cardwell Street, Garden City, Michigan. Her interests included playing cards, bingo, casino gambling and creating Jewelry Pictures. With "Web", she became an active and enthusiastic member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, starting in the mid 50's at Johnsons Post #78, on Joy Road in Detroit, Michigan, and ending her service at Battle Born Post #9211 on VFW Historic Lane in Reno, Nevada. She was anointed by Father Norman King from the Immaculate Conception Church. Her remains will be at the Glen Eden Memorial Park, Livonia, Michigan. Instead of flowers or gifts, remembrances can be PAID FORWARD.

He retired from Kellogg's in 1985 with 38 years of service. He was a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club and the Moose Lodge in Marshall. Delbert loved to fish and play his guitar. He enjoyed spending time with his family and helping his neighbors. Douglas W. "Doug" Robertson

Douglas W. "Doug" Robertson Battle Creek Douglas W. "Doug" Robertson, 76, died peacefully with his family at his side on Monday morning, October 18, 2010 at the Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. He was born in Battle Creek on October 17, 1934 the son of Walter J. and Mildred (Burrows) Robertson and graduated from Lakeview High School. Doug served his country as a member of the United States Army National Guard from 1953-1963. He retired from the Kellogg Company in 1993 after nearly 40 years of faithful service and was a member of the Kellogg 25 year club. Doug married Nancy J. Fry in Battle Creek on October 4, 1958; she survives. He is also survived by his children, Greg (Cathy) Robertson of Battle Creek and Brad (Anita) Robertson of East Leroy; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Alex, Brent, Emily and Logan; two great-grandchildren, Charlotte & Jake and his sisters, Joan (Jim) Hoffman and Lynda (David) Cole. Doug enjoyed boating and mowing his lawn, as well as his neighbor's lawns, with his John Deere tractor. He also enjoyed red convertibles and all old cars. An animal lover and family man, Doug loved his dogs and spending time with his family, but most especially his grandchildren. At the request of the family, they will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where funeral services to celebrate Doug's life will be held 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 21, 2010. Eli Buncich Battle Creek Eli Buncich, 85, died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 17, 2010. He was born September 8, 1925 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Michael and Mildred (Sajatovic) Buncich. Eli began working at Stimac's Grocery as a teenager and in 1943 graduated from Battle Creek Central High School. He actively served during, in the U.S. Army from November 30, 1943 until April 10, 1946. After his service in the Army, he was a meat cutter at Percy Jones Hospital, owned and operated Pursley's Market, was the manager of Leatherman's Service Station, owned Eli's Service Station and prior to his retirement in 1990 was the Warehouse Manager for Atlas Sales. Eli enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, playing golf and socializing with all his friends in Battle Creek. He was a member of the P.N.A #2416,, # 131, American Legion Post #298,, . Post #565, Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge #533, and Teamsters Local #7 and was also an Eagle Scout. On June 21, 1947 Eli was married to the former Wanda Madry who preceded him in death on April 16, 1995. He was also preceded by his parents and son-in-law: Denny Johnson. Surviving are six daughters: Gloria (Steve) Perry of Charlotte, Steph Skinner of Jackson, Vikki (Sam) Samson of Florida, Rose (William) McCurdy of Alabama, Fran Johnson of Battle Creek and Barb (Steve) Golden of Illinois; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and one sister: Ann (Albert) Bobrofsky of Battle Creek. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery and military honors presented by the U.S. Army. Floyd C. Oglesby

Floyd C. Oglesby Battle Creek Floyd C. Oglesby, 86, died on Friday, October 15, 2010, surrounded by his family. He was born December 28, 1923, the son of Bryan and Olive (Schultz) Oglesby in LuVerne, Iowa, spending most of his youth in Mason City, Iowa. He graduated from Mason City High in 1941 where he met his future wife, Gwen, whistling at her when he saw her for the first time. Floyd joined the US Army Air Corp in 1943. He flew thirty missions over Europe as a tail gunner on a B-24 Liberator in the 8th Air Force. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with three clusters, and Croix de Guerre of France. He flew two missions over France on June 6th, D-Day and was discharged October 10, 1945. On December 10, 1945, Floyd C. Oglesby was united in marriage to Gwendolyn "Gwen" Rampton in Mason City, IA. He earned a BA at the University of Northern Iowa in 1950. He also wrestled for UNI, placing second in the NCAA Finals Wrestling Tournament in 1950. Floyd taught school for one year in Osage, IA, for two years in Hampton, IA, then taught school at Battle Creek Central beginning in 1953. He earned an MA from Western Michigan University in 1959. During his twelve years at Central, Floyd taught U.S. History, was a Counselor, Director of Guidance, Wrestling Coach and Assistant Football Coach. He left high school teaching to work at Kellogg Community College, first as Dean of Students then as a counselor for 22 years. He was a member of the NEA and MEA. Floyd was elected to Battle Creek City Commission for six consecutive two year terms (1972-1984). He served as Vice Mayor for two years and as Mayor for three years. He played a lead role in attaining mandatory refuse collection, and was mayor when Battle Creek Township merged with the city of Battle Creek. Floyd signed documents establishing the sister city relationship with Takasaki, Japan, and was an ardent supporter of Battle Creek Unlimited. He played a role in railroad consolidation and dedicated the Miller Bridge on Washington Street, which enabled autos to by-pass rail crossings. In 1988, Floyd was inducted into the Michigan Wrestling Association Hall of Fame for his contributions as a wrestling coach during his career and in 2009, he and his 1950 NCAA champion wrestling team were inducted into the University of Northern Iowa Athletics Hall of Fame. Floyd loved grand parenting, listening to music, reading non-fiction, fishing, bird watching, spectator sports, working on the computer, politics, and watching PBS and C-Span. Floyd will be forever remembered for his kindness, love of people, love of life, and boundless love for his family, especially Gwen, the love of his life. Floyd is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Gwen, and four daughters: Julie (Greg) Hoelscher of Holland, Jo-Ellyn (Steve) Holt of Broomfield, CO, Jill (Barry) Dehlin of Okemos, and Mary (Matt) Fenske of Grand Rapids, thirteen grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren; sister, Maryo Griffin and brother, Bill Oglesby. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bryan Oglesby. The family will welcome friends from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday October 20, 2010 at Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 21, 2010 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, with full military honors. Glen E. Hudson Sr. Born February 13, 1940 in Wisconsin to Ivan P. and Harriet A. (Vanderhyden) Hudson. Glen has gone to be with his Lord on October 16, 2010. Glen married Edith (Ann) Elder in 1959. She preceded him in death in 1996. In 1998 he married Mavis Smith. He was preceded in death by sisters Delores Robinson and Betty Jimmerson, brothers Michael and Henry Hudson. He is survived by his wife Mavis, sons Glen (Andrea) Hudson Jr., Daniel Hudson, and daughters Rebecca Hudson, Melissa (Jeffrey) Miller; stepdaughters Terri (Richard) McLoud, Lilia Parra, 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings Joseph, Ivan, Lloyd (Claudette), Rex (Donna), Greg (Mary), Dorothy (Fred) Addison, Pat Vought, Mary Francisco and several nieces and nephews. Glen retired from several years as a drywall finisher/hanger in 2007. He enjoyed his family, friends, bowling, Nascar and his pets. According to Glen's wishes cremation has taken place. Cremation arrangements handled by Whitley Funeral Home in Kalamazoo, MI. A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Wesleyan Church in Hickory Corners MI with Pastor Len Davis officiating.

Mr. Ussher was a Army veteran and retired salesman with Marposs Corp. and a member of St. Timothy Church. He was also a member of the Florence Lions Club and VFW. Passed away on Friday October 1, 2010 at age 82, and was a resident of Florence, Kentucky. Lily "Mae" Reid Age 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 17, 2010. She was born October 6, 1922 in Gleason, TN, the daughter of Karsie and Ruby McDearmon. "Mae" was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Her joy was her family and her strong faith in the Lord. On Christmas Eve 1938, she married Arsie, who preceded her in death on November 28, 2005. Also preceding her in death was her brother, Fred Reid and sister, Gracie Delang. Surviving are her son, Richard (Linda) Reid; granddaughter, Julie (Al) Spalding; grandson, Dave (Kim Collins) Reid; great-grandsons, Alex & Ryan Reid; brother, Floyd (Mary) Reid; and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 2010, at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes Ball-Dunn Chapel, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason, MI with Pastor Gerhard Weigelt officiating. Interment immediately following in Maple Ridge Cemetery, Delhi Township.
