Clarey Rita Mae July 22, 1926 - October 1, 2010. Rita's spirit has risen to heaven to meet her God, her husband and eldest son who preceded her in death. Soon she will be a part of a very special and long awaited McCrady Reunion with her parents and 10 brothers and sisters. Her death will bring to close a generation whose memories we will all cherish. Her last days were spent in the peace and comfort of her home in Sparks, Nevada with her daughter Peggy Clarey and son-in-law, Fred Conner. Rita was born at the farm on Pumping Station Road. Fairfield County, Ohio. She grew up in Sugar Grove, Ohio, attended and graduated from Berne Union School in Sugar Grove, Ohio. Rita was the youngest child born to Charles and Rosemary (Shonebarger) McCrady. Rita was married to Wilbert A. Clarey for 56 years before his death in 2006. At that time she moved to Nevada to live with her only daughter. She had four children: Daniel (Linda), Peggy (Fred), Bruce (Alise), and Andrew (Laura). She had six male grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was a Nurses Aid at Garden City Osteopathic Hospital for over 20 Years. G.C.O.H. is located less that one block from the family Home on Cardwell Street, Garden City, Michigan. Her interests included playing cards, bingo, casino gambling and creating Jewelry Pictures. With "Web", she became an active and enthusiastic member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, starting in the mid 50's at Johnsons Post #78, on Joy Road in Detroit, Michigan, and ending her service at Battle Born Post #9211 on VFW Historic Lane in Reno, Nevada. She was anointed by Father Norman King from the Immaculate Conception Church. Her remains will be at the Glen Eden Memorial Park, Livonia, Michigan. Instead of flowers or gifts, remembrances can be PAID FORWARD.

Duane W. VanWynen

Duane W. VanWynen Delton Passed away October 27, 2010, at his residence with his family at his bedside. Duane was born May 6, 1933, in Kalamazoo, the son of William and Lena (Roelof) VanWynen. A graduate of Marshall High School, class of 1952. Duane enlisted into the US Navy during the Korean War, and was an electrician mate on a destroyer. Following the war he became an electrician, retiring in 1996. Duane was a proud member of the I.B.E.W. Local 131 in Kalamazoo. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and traveling. Duane will be remembered as a jack of all trades. He is survived by his wife Eileen (Stevens), whom he met when they were in second grade, and they were married in her parents home on October 1, 1961, in Vicksburg, a son and daughter in law, James and Christine VanWynen of Fowlerville, daughters: Amy Long, of Charlotte, and Jane VanWynen, of Portage, a sister Doris Heimstra, of Chattanooga, TN, grandchildren: Cassie, Sarah, Curtis and Kimberly. Duane's family will receive friends, Monday, November 1, 2010, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Williams-Gores Funeral Home in Delton, where a memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Jeff Worden, officiating. Marguerite H. Maricic-Ferguson Battle Creek Marguerite H. Maricic-Ferguson, 90, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at her home with her loving husband and her dog, Princess by her side. She was born July 25, 1920 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Joseph and Ethel May (Rice) Crane. Marguerite had worked as a medical secretary for Leila Hospital and Percy Jones Hospital until their closing, the worked for, in Fort Custer and later retired in 1985 from the Kellogg Company after 22 years in the personnel department. She loved to crochet and knit for the B.C.H.S. Auxiliary and was one of two top hours for knitting. Marguerite also loved her flower gardens, playing cards and bingo, traveling and St. Peter Lutheran Church activities. Most of all she loved her dog, Princess. On October 13, 1938 she was married to Charles Maricic and he preceded her in death in 1978. Marguerite later married Darwin Ferguson in 1980 who survives. Also surviving is her son: Nicholas (Jan) Maricic; two grandchildren: Charles Maricic and Carla (Tod) Mercer; four step-children: Gary (Christine) Ferguson of Greenfield Center, NY, Jeffrey (Debbie) Ferguson of Brownsurg, IN, Thomas Ferguson of Chicago, IL and Melissa (Trey) Harbour of Amsterdam, The Netherlands; seven step-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mildred Gilles and step-son, Mark Ferguson. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. this evening. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Jon Haug of St. Peter Lutheran Church officiating. Private interment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery. Radtke Robert Paul 59, of Bloomfield Hills. A proud family life with Lynn, his wife, and daughters, Sarah and Alyssa. Grew up in Northwest side of Detroit and attended Henry Ford High School. The oldest of five children, Rob loved to spend summers up north with family and friends. Summers were spent fishing and roaming the woods and fields of our beautiful state. Rob graduated from Oakland University and then the National College of Chiropractic in Illinois. He worked first as an associate of George Goodheart, founder of Applied Kinesiology and later practiced privately in Birmingham for 25 years. His ability to reach bodies, hearts and minds was legendary. Rob was gifted at articulating the pilgrimage towards consciousness. Rob was the enthusiastic president of Kirkwood Lake Association for 20 years. Rob loved to fish with his brothers and friends on the beautiful Michigan waterways. All those who knew Rob knew he was the facilitator of fun and joy and true engagement in life. Survived by beloved wife Lynn and daughters Sarah and Alyssa. Raymond Alvin Mickenham, 93 died September 22, 2010 in Battle Creek. Raymond was born on April 20, 1917, in Minot, North Dakota, the son of William and Merle mickenham., He attended Glad Tiding Bible College and Zion Illinois Bible College. In Battle Creek on August 11, 1945, he was united in marriage to the former Joyce L. Ferguson who survives. Raymond was employed at Eaton Manufacturing for 32 years retiring in 1980. After his retirement Raymond and Joyce spent their winters in Tucson. He was a member of the First Assembly of God, served on the church board for several years and belonged to the Men's Fellowship Group. He loved to travel, play golf and play cards., Surviving is his wife; sisters, Helen Parker and Maxine Unger both of Oregon; sister-in-law, Ruth Ware of Battle Creek; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers and 1 sister., Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 24, 2010, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with The Rev. Robert G. Roland J. "Ron" Myers

Age 87, passed away in Battle Creek, September 21, 2010. He was born September 19, 1923, in Crystal, MI, and graduated from Crystal High School (class of 1942), where he was a proud member of the basketball team. He also graduated from Acme Business College., Ron was a veteran of, , serving in the U.S., Air Corps, where he was a gunnery instructor on B29's. After being discharged from the military, he worked as an accountant/bookeeper at Ren Plastics for 24 years. Ron built his own home in Holt, and lived there for over 40 years. He and Audrey loved camping, and traveled to nearly every State in the U.S. He enjoyed square dancing and exercising at the YMCA, where he was a volunteer and coached softball, baseball and basketball. He also coached for church teams. Ron was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Holt. He was a decon, elder, and at one time even director of the Sunday School program. In spite of all of his accomplishments and interests, Ron always made time for his family. He never missed any event in which his children or grandchildren participated! He was preceded in death by his wife Audrey in 2000., Surviving are: son, Donald (Denise) Myers of Battle Creek; daughter, Terrill Ann Christensen of Crossville, TN; 4 grandchildren, Todd (Mindy Crozie) Bahle of Tempe, AZ, Trenton (Casey) Bahle of Holt, Laurie (Wade) O'Boyle of Lowell and Angela (Mike) Lemus of Battle Creek; 3 great-grandchildren, Claire O'Boyle, Lyle O'Boyle and Dylan Bahle; and stepsiblings., The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 24, 2010 at the Estes-Leadley Holt/ Delhi Chapel, with Pastor George M. Showers officiating. A graveside service will take place at Crystal Cemetery, Crystal, MI, at 2:30 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday. Terry R. Brown

Terry R. Brown Battle Creek Among the cherished remembrances of Terry Richard Brown, 67, who passed on October 25, in Battle Creek are the following: Terry was born in San Diego, and grew up in Elkhart, Indiana, and Kalamazoo, Michigan. He attended Kalamazoo Central High School, and was the first male cheerleader of that school in addition to being a good tennis player and violinist. After getting a BA from Western Michigan University, he graduated from the University of Denver with a Masters Degree in Philosophy. He then joined the, and served in many places in Europe but primarily as the secretarial agent for one of the generals at the NATO headquarters in Belgium. Terry was a giving individual. He had many friends at The Legion Villa in Battle Creek, where he had previously lived for many years and with whom he continued to visit and help in many ways such as providing the Villa with washing machines, a soda machine, and a van for transport -- all to improve the amenities and quality of the residents' lives. He also volunteered at the VA Hospital in Battle Creek as a Patient Transporter, and worked in its greenhouse. In addition, he was a carpenter and an upholsterer. He had a playful artistic side expressed in a passion for painting art works to make people smile. Many of these creations he would then pass on to his friends and loved ones. Finally, Terry had a strong faith in God and shared his faith with other, . He was preceded in death by his parents, Katherine Annie (Coons) and Russell Willis Brown. He is survived by his twin sister Diane Kaye Richards and her husband Robert of Waxahachie, TX. They have three children: a son Kevin who lives in Schoolcraft MI with his wife Kathy (and children, Emily, Ethan, and Nick), a daughter Beth (John) McGoldrick in Bloomington, MN, and another daughter Kimberly (David) Palazolo in Conway, AR. His brother Mark Elliott of Los Angeles has four children: Pamela (Kirk) Brooks of Brownsville TX, Raquel Spatzier of Mt. Laurel NJ, Tricia of Charlotte NC, and Mark Jr. of Mt. Laurel NJ. Also surviving him are his uncles, Gex Coons of Newport Beach CA, and Edgar (Ted) Coons of New York City and respective families. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Terry and the fond memories we have of him. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 o'clock Friday at the Ft. Custer National Cemetery with full military honors (meet in assembly area at 9:50). Friends may meet the family on Thursday from 5-8p.m. at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Born December 26, 1941 to Nathan and Marion (Smith) Peake in Lansing, Michigan. He graduated from Portaland High School in 1960 and studied at Ferris State College, (now Ferris State University). He spent three years in the Army his entire working life was spent at Peake Electric in Portland, where he worked for his father and then later purchased the business from him. He retired in 1995 due to ill health. David spent many years on stage and at the sound board for the Portland Civic Players and continued to be a supporter of the group after he was no longer to participate in theatre productions., On October 12, 1968 he was married to Ruth Ann (Brooks) at Portland United Methodist Church. They have three children, Chris, Cameron and Cree and six grandchildren, Aimee, Cole, Austin, Camille, Jaylyn and Shayne, two great-grandchildren DeAndre and Alexandria. He was a very loving, faithful, fun loving husband, father, granfather and friend. Also surviving, several cousins.
